NESCraft

Oh, I might just be me being my old crazy self but I REALLY THINK WE SHOULD DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE BIG CAT TRYING TO EAT US ALL.

What you created here is very interesting. I read it all in two days, and look forward to more. Do not worry, haste is the enemy of perfection, have your rest.:)

Edit: I want to join the waiting list, if possible.

I think you forgot to include me in the list.:(
Anyway, I'd like to be one of the babies, if possible.

NinjaDude's Orders

-It's about time that I create some stone tools, so that I may better undertake the tasks ahead of me! So there's one AP.

-Go out and gather some sticks from the woods to the northeast. Before going on this trip, throw some goat meat to the wolves. Hopefully this keeps them passive as I gather up the sticks. I'll keep my spear with me, just in case the wolves or some other threat thinks it's going to attack me. After returning with the sticks, I shall place some stones around a single stick standing upright, and place the goat skull atop it. This shall form a totem. May it attract the weak and weary, so that I may bring them a merciful death. (Gathering sticks is a free action, as would be throwing meat to the wolves, right? And if possible, bring multiple sticks to the cave) There's my second AP.

-Create a backpack using the Goat skin I have. Gotta carry stuff! So there's my third and last AP.

-Sleep at the end of the night, just stick close to the fire, and if possible stay in the cave. Whenever hungry, munch on that...purple carrot. Besides that, just stick to what I listed above. I am gracious that the goat chose me to slay it, and hopefully its spirit will beckon others to a merciful end. If other similarly lame animals approach, I will slay them if the kill is easy. In addition, I must acknowledge the wolves as the true hunters of this land and offer them tribute after each kill. After I kill an animal, I will throw a portion to the wolves if possible.

Great update!

Justo's Orders
1 AP to craft Goat Skin into a *Backpack. (I assume this is possible with a Goat Skin. If not then craft a belt or clothes out of this)

1 AP to craft a Stone Spear to replace the Spear I've lost.

1 AP to **Hunt/Move towards the North West (towards the fire I saw). Perhaps the Goat on the small hill will be my next target. Regardless of how things go with Hunting I want to try to reach the fire today and Herobrine/***Merciary (which should be more than doable with the Explorer Trait).

1 AP to go towards sleeping and resting (hopefully in a comfy/safe spot near Merciary/Herobrine's camp).

*My Stone Tools and Goat Skull will be kept in my backpack. If successful in hunting I'm happy to scrap the Goat Skull if I need more room for Food or Hide. Also Eat additional food if need be to ensure as little as possible is going to waste.

**If hunting is successful I will give 1 meat to Merciary/Herobrine as a sign of friendship. If hunting fails I'll live off of my current Meat and won't give any away.

***Merciary gets a Spearpoint to the throat if he tries anything overnight. :p

not exactly what trait to take. was going to take herb lore..but situation has changed...
I'm going to chose Explorer. were going to be stuck on the move for a while to find more people, and/or to find a good place to settle down, to slight extra range to scout while moving and an the instinct make it a must to insure we know a genreal direction to go.
Other choices was braveheart, to honor my father, or Warrior, to better defend myself.

hmm..
1AP to gather enough berries from the bush for both me and my parent(possibly some extra?).
1 AP to move to the east and explore a bit.
1 AP to try and craft a Spear from the hoe and some of the bone/tusk to the east near the burned spot, or my fathers stone tools.

Perhaps Tux can try to work on something to carry stuff/food with us, possibly start a fire once we move east.

if bear tries to attack us, through some of the gathered berries at it to distract it.

Thankyou!!!

Amazing update, Daft. A tiger hmmmm I'll have to do some thinking on how to get around this one. Just a curious is there any chance it could climb up into my tree and eat me or is it bound to the ground?

Edit: Just noticed TerrisH and Tuxedohamm are northwest of me.

Tigers can sometimes climb a tree. You could give alternate orders if the Tiger simply walks off, ideally I want to know what you do if it stays there or tries climbing the tree :)

I didn't want to make it too obvious that Terrish and Tux are nearby but nice of you to spot that ;)

I think I'm gonna continue as an abomination. I might actually try to become some sort of spirit for the humans' to talk about, and perhaps even worship. That's how I want to make my first footprint in the world.

Also, I have noticed a detail: NW of my current position, that's where my skull and old axe are. Can I go in that direction and snatch the axe for my use?

@merciary, Herobrine: NE of your position, there are several bones and skin. You can use them for yourselves, I won't be able to.

@Milarqui whatever is most fun for you, don't feel railroaded! Its possible other abominations could arise as ghost players try to possess animals and etc. And yes, you can indeed pick up the axe, but probably don't have the mental focus or the dextrous fingers to craft anything yourself.

It was worth it!

Make me proud, my family!

:salute:

@Immaculate, North King, Seon
These arrangements are acceptable and stuff. More long-term we should seek to expand our hut large enough to qualify as some kind of longhouse or whatever, reinforce it against the elements, and prepare a larger network of gardens and farms or whatever, potentially with irrigation from the shore.

Just want to point out, its definitely salt water that lies to the south, but you don't know how big it is. You can see hills or islands poking over the southern horizon. Your area has been well-watered recently. Its possible irrigation, wells etc could be a thing, I need to think about it - still intend to make formal rules for farming as well.

I'll take one of the babies if no one above me in the list wants them.

Noted :)

 :goodjob:

I think you forgot to include me in the list.:(
Anyway, I'd like to be one of the babies, if possible.

Sorry GoldenKnight, I knew I missed one! Will add you to the list.

Great! HAHAHAHA! :D I'll be the Spirit of the Night, willing to aid the humans nearby. Like Batman! :D

I'll hold off on creating a second abomination. I first want to establish some cred as a semi-good creature, and then I'll have a child to whom I'll teach that our role in this world is to protect humans and be worshipped. :D

By the way, regarding life spans / old age. I'm thinking of the following formula:

* Roughly 7 earth years per turn in this NES
* Add +21 years for those characters that appeared as fully-formed adults
* extreme life span is ~16 turns, or two lunar cycles in this NES

Terrish is thus 14 in human years, and Immaculate is 70(!).

But don't despair! I think the first generation, those born magically, should have methuselan life spans, so you can expect to remain vigorous adults for a few turns yet before turning old and grey.

@Milarqui you have the option of becoming GOD ! Use it !!

Seems fairly reasonable, but I'm not sure if I'm ready to spend all 4 on the village this particular turn... might want to "expand the workforce" if you know what I mean. :groucho:

Well- we need to spend 1 to eat anyway- so we might as well hunt as a group. Maybe you can stay in the cave for one more turn and we can save on cutting timber and expanding the dwelling. Would you mind contributing to the shrine this turn?

EDIT: Then you and Seon can do something about the big cat. Like spray it with water and say 'shoo'.

Daft, hypothetically if I play one of these monsters demigods, I would lose my place in line incarnation as a human being? I think it's cool to play as one of these creatures, but play as a human in this world seems so dangerous as exciting.
What is your opinion? Better wait a spot as a human being or one of these monsters?

To be a monster demigod, you would need first to be a human, then try to possess an animal and for that thing to go wrong. Of course, it might also be possible for you to wait until I reproduce, but it's not going to happen in the short term. Best if you become a human first, and then do your best to put your print on the place before trying to be an abomination that might not be amenable to helping humans.

Well I'll draw up three order sets. Just noticed having finished that it's more like 6 different sets if we go by all the different options I've listed for my actions.

Order Set 1: Tiger Tries to Climb up Tree.
AP 1: Spend this entirely on seeing if I can chop some heavier branches or something to make them fall on to the tiger or maybe use to somehow fortify myself in the tree.

AP 1: If the above did not deter the Tiger then fight the tiger if it reaches for me use my axe to try and chop at it. If the tiger was deterred or better yet somehow injured to a great extent like a concussion or disorientated for a moment try to attack and kill it. If the tiger just got irritated and left I'll try to cautiously sneak down and gather herbs and then head back up to my tree.

AP 1: Sleep I suppose I'm obviously gonna need some rest after any of the three ways this could turn out.

Order Set 2: Tiger decides to lounge by my tree.

AP 1: Instead of chopping off big branches cut off ones I can toss and try to throw them around at nearby bushes and trees and maybe that deer if I possibly could to startle them and hopefully distract the tiger.

AP 1: If Tiger was distracted cautiously get down and gather herbs. If Tiger was not distracted just fortify myself in the tree in case it decides to come up the turn after this one.

AP 1: Sleep I suppose.

Order Set 3: If the tiger is nice and decides to leave before I do anything.

AP 1: Cautiously get down and gather herbs maybe try to corral that squirrel by the bush and kill it.

AP 1: Gather some of the wild grass as cautiously as I can knowing the tiger is still most likely in the area.

AP 1: After the two prior actions head back up to my tree and of course sleep.

Name of my area: Dreadlands
Reason: because of how unforgiving its have been (except the last day)

J.K. Stockholmes Orders

1 AP - Go hunting for the gazelle to my south-west, if successful, skin/butcher it and bring it to my fire for cooking while I do other things. If unsuccessful, eat as much fruit from the tree as I can on the spot, take a few back.
2 AP - If I killed the gazelle, I should have a free hide, meaning I can create 1 linen, and combine them to make a tent, all in this day. If I didn't kill the gazelle, then I will make 2 linen for use next day.
1 AP - Sleep under my bush by my fire, after a good meal of fruit or cooked gazelle.

@ArrowGamer: Feel free to do whatever in what might be your last turn as my partner. You could distract those two lions to our south, keeping them occupied with matters away from my sleeping place.

For some reason, having the first multi-birth in the game seems kind of notable :p
Just saying..

@Qoou, your orders were a little over-engineered in particular, sorry I didn't spot this beforehand. You were trying to do a lot for 1AP in the middle. I interpreted it as 'make linen from grass', while opportunistically eating anything edible. You did not have time to roam around and try to befriend animals this time.

My bad >.>. I need to get out of the habit of instinctively trying to abuse systems. The phrase "free action" kind of triggered that last turn :p.

Questions:
- Bird-bush to the right of me. Bush or small tree? Edible or inedible? How cute is the bird?
- Sheep-grass below me. Did I spot anything edible when I walked through there during the last day?

Hey all, I was able to puzzle together all the snapshots from each update into a single map. Would people prefer to see it or keep on roaming?
