NESer Impressions Thread

I'll tell you if you do your impresson of myself and others ;)

I don't know more than half of you and my memory is terrible. But FINE!

Abaddon - likes to play abaddon in god neses. if i recall he is a decent player. should start a god nes of his own. - banned ;)
alex994 - china, took it to greater complexity than me that's for sure. Don't meet him in NESes...
Anonymoose - I think I recall a nes of his that he killed, I might be wrong.
Azale - hehe. saved his ass on stjnes5 :p. trustworthy, but lacks imagination to rule huge empires. Haven't played with him for a while either.
bestshot9 -who?
Bill3000 - who?
Birdjaguar - AMAZING neses. I still mourn the death of his last non-world fresh start. should revive it and stop killing neses! and should let realism slip sometimes :p
carmen510 - i do recall the nickname, but have no memories
Dachs - rome comes to mind. oh and the call for destruction of Carthage which i answered completely in itnes.
Daftpanzer - AMAZING neses. gives up on them quickly because they are complex to draw. should either UPDATE or start a new lifenes. UPDATE NAO
das - the god of nesing. Nuff said.
Eltain - Not bad maps and fantasy NESes! Kills them.
flyingchicken - fun to play with.
GamezRule - This time I recall your nickname, but not you...
germanicus12 - i do recall something with him and nukes, but not sure what
hbar - name but no memories
Immaculate -again recognize the nickname but not more
Jason the King - second god of nesing for me. should make fresh starts WITHOUT killing them when they get good.
Kal'Thzar - doom comes to mind. I'm pretty sure he kept any tigot alive in iggy's nes which i like.
Kraznaya - name no memory
Kyzarc Fotjage who?
LittleBoots name but no memeory
Lord_Iggy - third god of nesing. amazing neses, thou sometimes a little complex for me. love his space neses but they require a little too much storytelling for me.
lord_joakim - i know he's a decent neser, but memories elude me.
Luckymoose - makes neses and kills them. people tend to dislike him, including me, but he's Ok.
madviking - who?
Masada - another name i know but not more than that
Matt0088 - i recall him thinking i'm all about destruction and chaos in stjnes5 when he played byzantium. was fun.
Milarqui - Good NESer, a little too proud for his own good ;)
Ninja Dude - fun player
North King - wow. BEST NESES EVER. too easily kills them. i still mourn them all NK... sad that in your last and currently surviving one I just cannot play...
Northen Wolf - name, lack memories
Omega124 who?
Owen Glyndwr who? pretty sure i saw your nick, but no memories
Perfectionist - perfectionist.
qoou - noob spelled backwards.
spryllino - Fun to play with. Not bad at adapting to the situation.
taillesskangaru who?
Tecknojock who?
Terrance888 - your nes is fun. UPDATE already.
The Farow - I think he also killed a nes i liked.
TheLizardKing - fun
Thlayli - france and young homosexual comes to mind. too young. we had a lot of wars with each other on neses. was FUN. i liked killing his religion at Nortugal.
thomas.berubeg -name no memories
Yui108 who?
ZeletDude and last but not least, who?

there. whats FFS?

so many whos. i need to start nesing again. it will improve my language. too bad my story telling is pretty much dead and there aren't any non-colonial/modern country neses around.

Fantasy Fresh Start

Abaddon - Enthusiastic, in the jump up and down fashion. I'm assuming he mellowed a bit, especially since he moved onto gaming the system :p

alex994 - Always playing stable countries with a hate for steppe nations. Fun guy to talk to, and generally seems aware of the games internal politics (hence why I talk to him...also the fun bit!). Seems to understand the motive I have for a lot of my actions in NESes, which he can expound on if he wants (he might have forgotten).

Azale - When I first started playing he was a good guy. Now hes the person that plays a nation for 1 turn at the start of the nes then disappears

Bill3000 - Astute? Didn't really have a noob period as I recall, just got straight in and kicked some ass. Also hates the Brits via interactions with some people in OT...

Birdjaguar - Does good poetry, and his NESes are works of art too! Simply amazing NESes.

Dachs - Ahhh, I remember the child well; Dachspmg to give him his former name. A petulant sulk I called him once. Probably because like most people he joined his first nes got very very VERY excited, got smacked about by a more experciance player (Sheep? someone else?). Then he left and became wise: Dachs; and proceeded to kick a lot of ass (ok, maybe not in that order). Now he takes an active interest in writing up some of the best of the Alt-hists and trolling in OT....

Daftpanzer - He creates Unique neses. I've only been involved in the first one. I suppose they are not to my taste *shrug*.

das - The most prolific nes mod ever? Shaped the early NESverse and for that I give him his dues. Now he spends time relaxing, fairly devious player with a nice creative streak to his plays.

Jason the King - I can't actually remember a nes where I interacted directly with him (A sign of my age perhaps). I do recall playing in a few of his NESes. So yes, just a warm fuzzy glow...

Kal'Thzar - Oh hey, its me!

Kraznaya - Has a snarky streak. A good player, can certainly analyise a situation well. Also a good person to chat with, likes to keep his finger on the pulse of a game.

Lord_Iggy - I know him mostly as a Mod. These were incredibly fun to play, and certainly he added something to the mods with his style. The most important factor is to check out how many updates his NESes had. Thats part of what made them great; a story that was more than 10-20 updates. As a player...likes to try things creative and IC...also tends to get chopped down for it when someone wants his land (if I recall correctly he complains about a time when he played the Ottomon Empire, sick man indeed).

Luckymoose - Fun guy! Maybe a little crazy/unstable at times, but that can be fun!

Milarqui - Still feel a little guilty about stabbing him in the back. He's Loyal to a fault, and that might have been his first experiance with getting attacked like that....Well I'm sure he'll toughen up.

Ninja Dude - Heh. Fun guy, certainly a good hand at warring. Also a bit trusting, I feel that could have been abused (and sort of has been).

North King - I mostly recall him for his NESes. They always try someting NEW and EXCITING. Whether they deliver update wise depends on some escoteric combination of star signs . I actually prefer NK as a mod, he seems to have combined good features of BJ and das.

spryllino - Mhmm from what I remember he came into the latest of Dachs neses took over the big bad, and carried out annoyingly effective diplomacy on my allies, then beat me up.

Thlayli - Heh. First NES I played with him (or I remember) was in LINESII, so I crushed him after he had gone about creating a very effective empire, and then I let him get away and became an irritation after that, which eventually led to my downfall (that got dull really fast). Became a bit of a recurring theme actually either through my own incompetance/soft hearted nature or due to my IC allies being taken over by noobs... Revenge will be sweet...at some point...where its convenient and actually furthers my interests.

Those are about the players I know/remember.... and had something intresting to say.

Masada- One of the coolest dudes ever. Mah bbi, and eminently all knowing. First got me into NESing.

I took Owen's NESing cherry. :D

Also needs to come visit me sometime.

Will do mang!

Ninja Dude - Heh. Fun guy, certainly a good hand at warring. Also a bit trusting, I feel that could have been abused (and sort of has been).

How so (just curious)? Also, I think that's the first time someone has complemented my writing :p

ZeletDude: Reviving his NES.

Abaddon: Foreign Anglo guy.
Anonymoose: Freaking arrogant genius.
Daftpanzer: Fun, awesome guy.
Flyingchicken: Foreign Asian(?) guy.
Jason the King: Great American, yeah!
Lord_Iggy: Funny, amazing genius.
Luckymoose: Freaking angry guy.
Masada: Genius, ain't young.
Owen Glyndwyr: Great American youngster.

And I think that's about it.

erez: Funny in chat, but I've never played in a NES with 'im. He definitely thought I was gay because of my status as a QUEEN fanboy. (I think he was hitting on me) Erez's conversation in #nes only lasted a couple nights, but he was consistently entertaining.

bestshot: Modern-day Confederate cowboy trapped in a beaver's body. Also, he is the fungus among us. Also, he was my neighbor in the dormitory for two years, soon to be three. Also again, he's my grandson. Awkward, I know.

Owen: Consistently greets me as 'nony in #nes. I've honestly grown fond of it. He is an avid supporter of the black market antler trade that Lucky and I have established. He is also a water-baby singing in a lily pool delight. By that, I mean that he's like a cool cat. Cooler, perhaps. I shouldn't get hasty about it, but I'm pretty comfortable in saying that he's as cool as a cool cat, with a standard deviation of .3 cool points. :)

It was Dachspmg, actually, Kal. :)
Spoiler Previous Impressions :
Abaddon: Eh. Seems I mostly connect him to "finding loopholes in the rules". I've never really had a long-term playing experience with him other than that. Shame.

alex994: Very Chinese, though it's mostly his own fault (Guangfei?). Solid, quiet, risk-averse, and usually more of a long-term threat.

Anonymoose: I'd say "South Alabama represent" except I hated living there. A bit crazy; always funny.

Azale: The king of dropped projects and unsent orders. Currently doing an okay job of correcting that impression. When he does send orders, is fairly competent, although perhaps a little too easily manipulated. A member of our Avatar Cabal.

Bill3000: Relatively recent recruit from OT and #fiftychat. Also the only NESer I've ever met in person (not counting Supermath). So far, he has quite the knack for being lucky, which is much more useful than being skilled. Newest member of the Avatar Cabal.

Birdjaguar: Possibly the most successful mod of the last three or four years. The only gauge I have on his playing style is that he can always surprise you, and that he likes East Asia.

das: Best mod ever, and one of the best players ever. Doesn't seem to ever have issues getting into character, especially for despotic monarchies. Consistently excellent at story-writing in ways that I wish I could match if I still wrote stories with any regularity. Seriously, he's very awesome, or would be if he ever finished up developing his latest NES project.

Eltain: No clue.

flyingchicken: Erratic, unpredictable, and off-the-wall (usually mixed with some kind of entertaining-ness), but when he can be assed to send proper orders he's pretty damn good. If he actually stays interested in his projects or countries, they usually turn out quite well. One of the better of the more recent recruits.

germanicus12: Haven't really had much experience with him after DaNES I, which was a long time ago. :dunno:

hbar: You were right, I don't really know who you are. :(

Immaculate: Not a whole lot of experience with him yet. Seems a bit harebrained. Apparently he's good at running sci-fi NESes?

Kal'thzar: A kilt-wearing obsidian spear-wielding...physicist? :mischief: Gotta say, I agree with das, here: loads of potential, but hasn't managed to get the stars to align properly yet.

Kraznaya: Been here an awful long time to have had virtually no long-term experience. :p As a NESer, can't seem get stereotyped as Chinese no matter how hard he tries. Regardless of actual skill - hard to judge with such a sample size - does a very good job of seeming to have skill. Also has written some of the funnier orders I've ever seen. The Bad Cop to my #nes Good Cop.

Lord_Iggy: Last time I basically just associated him with Turks. These days it seems he prefers playing more out-of-the-way countries where he can sit by himself and fool around. He's also very stereotypically Canadian, with everything that implies. :p Another of the Avatar Cabal.

Luckymoose: Fun times. The grand desert invasion in NES2 VI is one of the more unfortunate errors a NESer has ever made. Lots of pluses and minuses on this ledger, but I think they mostly balance out. It's a shame he hasn't played anything consistently in awhile, but then again, neither have I. Charter member of the Avatar Cabal.

Matt0088: I have this vague impression of a fairly decent NESer who doesn't stick to any one project (or country) for very long.

Milarqui: lolberia. Other than that, never really had any interactions with him. :undecide:

Ninja Dude: Possibly the most successful recent member ("recent" defined here as "post-AFSNES", rather archaically). Fairly good mod and fairly good player, from what I hear. Member of the Avatar Cabal.

North King: Mostly lolindia. Almost never been in his NESes, almost never played with him in the same NES, weirdly, so I know him much better via chat than anything else. Fairly good reputation, though, especially at designing cultures and countries.

Northen Wolf: One of the FFHers. If I'm the good cop on #nes, he's the Really Good Cop, maybe even the Permissive Cop.

Omega124: :dunno: Not a whole lot. Didn't seem too interested in DaNES II.

Owen Glyndwr: Likes the British Isles. I imagine he could be fairly competent if he ever attempted to do anything. Charter member of the Avatar Cabal.

Perfectionist: Even if he did waste his talents by going into physics, possibly one of the best players ever with one of the best historical knowledge bases ever, even if he doesn't show it by not playing in a whole lot of NESes. Quite reliable. I wish more than anything that I could have found a way to get in character in his NES. Seems to be unduly fond of Northern Europe (minus the Celts), though.

spryllino: One of the more recent good recruits. Still a bit raw, but has quite the potential and knowledge base.

taillesskangaru: A fair amount of raw potential, but not a whole lot of experience. Another one of the guys that tends to get down on himself too easily.

Tecknojock: Aggie. Um...:dunno:

Terrance888: What? Your CHARLES LI is evolving!...but seriously, still very random, but significantly less annoying. This is a Good Trend.

The Farow: Isn't around nearly enough to give me anything other than a vague warm feeling about him.

Thlayli: Another one of us that passes for an 'old guard' these days. Perhaps overly fond of implausible plans, migrations, and World War II alliances, not to mention the Papism, but still great fun and fairly skilled. Member of the Avatar Cabal.

thomas.berubeg: An FFHer; I honestly don't know much other than that!

Yui108: Still working out a lot of the kinks, but still very young with lots of potential. Too bad he's a Papist.

ZeletDude: Quiet. I know more about his OT posting habits than his NESing ones.

bestshot9: I regrettably know him better for lolabama than for NESing. Not sure if that's a Good Thing!

carmen510: Used to be here a long time ago. Gone a lot these days. Ran a semi-entertaining yet utterly implausible NES based on the Rule of Cool several years ago that I periodically monitored.

DarthNader: Balt-cum-Yooper who seems to be fond of DipNESing, and doing it reasonably well. Good times.

erez87: Nortugal, with all of the baggage that carries. Atheist Lusitanian Irish...responsible for getting me into the most famous and perhaps worst-run war I've ever fought. Doesn't hang around here much anymore, or if he does he doesn't get involved in the same things I do.

GamezRule: Has done precisely nothing in the NES forum so far. Seems to try too hard to get noticed elsewhere on CFC, just like every other prepubescent forumite. He'll grow up eventually.

Imago: Ran a justifiably famous ancient NES several years ago that a lot of people really liked and that I toyed with joining. These days, doesn't show up as often, to the best of my knowledge.

Jason The King: One of the real old-timers, not like the parvenu variety to which I sort of belong. Had an immense impact on the way NESing developed for good or ill. Despite being something of a legendary mod, I think I only played one turn in a NES of his, and that turn (first turn) was the turn it died. :undecide:

Kyzarc Fotjage: Not a clue in the world.

LittleBoots: Caligula! Despite Papism and being a New Englander, entertaining and fairly knowledgeable, especially about Euro stuff. One of the people that's consistently interested in the nonsense I scatter in the althist thread, for some reason or other, for which I am eternally grateful. :p Perhaps not as crazy as Thlayli, but similar enough in other respects that it's downright creepy. Doesn't check up on this forum nearly enough, though, which bites him in the ass from time to time.

lord_joakim: Despite being a greasy besotted Dane, is quite personable. Fun to be around, so long as you don't put him in the same room as Luckymoose.

madviking: My butt has graced his car! Also, Five Guys. Good times, although I still feel bad about AT&T screwing up the would-be meetup at the Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear. Hopefully he sticks as a recruit here. :D

qoou: I have a very poor gauge on qoou due to low mutual playing time. Seems like he's fond of odd plots, though. Hopefully PerfNES will wean him of that vice - assuming it's not all a cunning front.

Symphony D.: "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times..." Dude was a world-class dick by his own admission; he was also a great sounding board (although most of the talking went the other way), a source for inspiration and humor, and one of the biggest influences on the way I think about NESing. I'm sorry he had to go, but I understand why, and I'm glad that he came back for question time and messing around.

TheLizardKing: Also somewhat foreign to me, although I know he's been here awhile. Vague memories of him being interested in something in DaNES, but it apparently didn't take.

I guess I should explain my lack of existence. NESes die. I can't take it anymore. All MODers are evil.

Oh and Anonymoose, I hit on anyone, I'm awfully flirty for unknown reasons. Thought it's just a game :p I have been monogamous for over 5 years...

Really bananalee? Really? I'm offended you Kiwi.
