From the shores of Nnalubaale β Lake Victoria β were launched the deadly war canoes of Buganda. By the late 19th century, Buganda was the most populous place in Africa's interior, with man-made lakes, a well-ordered city, and envoys from all the surrounding people seeking the king's ear. And well they should β Bagandan raids were a terrifying force.

And well they should β Bagandan raids were a terrifying force.

Cultural and Expansionist with a focus on lakes, as expected. I'm surprised by the Commander and the focus on pillaging tiles though.
Sounds like a fun civ tbh, but probably one that I would rather choose by circumstances than actively going for it from the beginning (in contrast to e.g., Russia or Siam).

Hopefully this is going to change once we have another Modern African civ. Even something unrelated like Moroccan mud-walled houses would make much more sense than the Mexican style.
This may be because the improvement adds a specific Terrain type, which I think has no precedent in the game yet. Although itβs not clear if itβs actual βterraformingβ, or that the improvement can only be built on lakes. The former sounds more exciting for sure.
