pre-release info New Civ Game Guide: Majapahit

pre-release info
If it's Himiko, then she needs to be paired with Meiji Japan, and we won't get another civilization guide this week. That means the unrevealed leader isn't Himiko or Hawaiian, so he/she is probably unpaired with his/her original civilization, just like Amina and Machiavelli.
Eh. You can just throw in off-hand comment à la "you can pair Himiko with Majapahit in Exploration and then become Meiji Japan in the Modern Age" without revealing too much about Meiji.

Devs did the same thing with Augustus and Spain.

The argument against that is that Himiko's ability is centered around Endeavours, and we've still don't know how those work exactly. I expect a Shaun Short on Dip before we get the Himiko FL but that might drop in the next few days.

For all we know, the next FL is Amina with Songhai immediately after, like last week's the Pachacuti-Inca double-whammy.

There's been a small vocal minority on places like Youtube and Reddit complaining about the "lack of European Civs" in the base game.
Are you sure that they’re not the Silent Majority and the commenters on CivFanatics aren’t the small, vocal minority?

This is correct! Once you increase the limit in the Modern Age, your inactive specialists will become active again.
To expand on this, Specialist Limit is on a per tile basis. If your limit is 2, that's 2 Specialists per tile. Once placed, they cannot be moved, and they stay there across Age Transition. They have a maintenance but also a base yield, and boost Building Adjacencies in that tile by 50%, per Specialist.

When you transition Ages, you lose all Building Adjacencies, and go down to the base yield of the Specialist. Overbuilding in those tiles with Buildings from the new Age will allow the Specialists to boost the new adjacencies

In the case of Majapahit, when your Specialist Limit is reduced on Transition, all the effects of those Specialists stop working. But the Specialists themselves that exceed the Limit are still on the tile, and their effects will be re-enabled when you increase your Limit again through normal means.

Haha, yes. But it's a boat holding Cetbangs rather than the Cetbangs themselves.

Cetbangs were a form of light cannon that could be fired from a crouched position or mounted as a swivel gun on a ship or a gun carriage.

Incidentally, it's good to finally see the Majapahit associated with gunpowder weapons.
I expected a naval unit anyways, so this is I guess the best of both worlds.

Tell them to wait for the Modern Age, where it's possible they might get 3 more.

Any missing European Civs are probably being saved to sell DLC/Expansions later. If they did that with the non-European Civs, those DLCs wouldn't sell as well.

Introducing a new Exploration Age civ, Majapahit!

The https://civilization.2k.com/civ-vii/en-GB/game-guide/civilizations/ page links to the Norman instead of Majapahit (and still to Mongolia instead of Ming and Inca).
Strange that Majapahit are considered Economic when Specialists and Happiness are mostly an Expansionist thing?
Happiness is also a Diplomatic thing.

I bet the Silent Majority just doesn't care.

Those who care, will complain.

Those who do not, won't.

Here's the Pura unique quarter. The Candi is the split gate in the back and the Meru is the one in the front.

Those people are always going to exist. If they had their way, the only non-European civs would be China, Japan, Egypt, the Aztecs, and India all led by men.

What a beautiful civilization with a neat design.

I hope at one point we gonna get second Indonesian civ with a different flavor, for example Islamic one (say Aceh or Mataram Sultanate), it's the third time we are getting Hindu-Buddhist Javanese empire ;) (I was tempted to say "Majapahit" but to be fair kris swordmen and candi of civ5 Indonesia preceded Majapahit empire)

Just wait until you see Amina leader reveal and a certain breed of totally not political, totally not racist and totally not sexist gamers is going to be coincidentally very angry about the addition of female Muslim black African leader :p

There's Majapahit! Wonder what the First Look will be, then...
They don't have enough leaders to announce one every week. They've already announced Trung Trac; thus far each regional/ethnic group gets one and exactly one leader (not counting personas and DLC).

Do I infer that correctly that Improved Specialist Limit is a Modern Era thing, and Majapahit get it one era sooner?
