New sport taking root

Did you mean to include a poll?

Yes, I think so, but I'm not going to make any predictions or bets.

I did but screwing up the poll is the least of the problems/ if you saw the other naked thread

I could see either soccer or lacrosse pushing its way into the top 4.

I meant to say as in completly new not played today edit: sorry I know I allways sem to write to little ...I need to stop thinking everyone thinks the same way as me.

Sure! Dodgeball of course.

But I do hope that 100 years from now that Table Tennis will be just as popular!!

Yeah! Rock on.

Table tennis is art, movement, skill combined into the most quick reflexed sport you've ever seen, how in the hell they spin the thing to do such fantastic things with only sheer instinct as a guide is beyond the laws of psychology and physics. :)

Once we get around to inventing Anti-gravity drives, I suspect it is almost inevitable that Quidditch will become an actual sport, and become immensely popular thanks to the already immense popularity of the Harry Potter books.

An already existing sport that I'd like to become more widespread is Ultimate - a slightly rugby-like game(but without the violence) played with frisbees.

Ultimate is boring, what's the point of playing rugby, without the violence?

itd be cool to have pro dodgeball,

i think the top 4 in my country are
Football
Rugby
Cricket
Tennis?

Tennis would probably be knocked out :)

i think soccer and rugby should become more popular in the USA. also lacrosse seems to be gaining popularity.

In maybe 25 years, Soccer ought to pass the NHL into most popular sports (along with NASCAR)

Rubgy and ultamate are very popular on US college campuses....if that involvement turns into fan-dom latter in life, then those sports might make a run as well

Cricket is great, but it's hard to get insight into unless your willing to spend the time to find out about it, much like baseball.

Baseball I know the rules, but to really understand I'd have to lose my job stay up late and devote a hell of a wedge of time to finding out about it's inner mysteries, good analogy with cricket.

All very true! On top of all that, it is also the most popular racket sport in the world, the most accessible sport in the world, and easily one of the best spectator sports in the world.

Also an excellent way to get and stay in shape. I read in an Australian Health Journal that Table Tennis burns about 450 calories per hour, not even at a high level of play. At higher levels it could probably burn upwards of 800.

I hope it involves hunting other people with small, coloured balls projected at high rates of speed from a hand held device powered by compressed air. That would be cool.

Airsoft or paintball would work. I dont like the soft part of air soft it needs to be kicked up a notch. No pain no gain!!

Oh no, its loads of pain, the thing is that its different from paintball. Paintball feels like kind of a punching impact, whereas Airsoft is more so a stinging, numbing sensation. I've been shot with airsoft guns enough to bleed on one occasion.

Its also loads of fun! Nothing like capping your best friend in the bare back from 10 feet away.

Just be sure to be safe!
