Heres something we can surely find common ground on, my 'Lord of the Community Patch' - proper decorum when intentionally removing features and breaking defines from the Community Patch would include a statement of such from the person who made those changes? or is it tactful to make the change without warning, ignore questions about it, and anyone who uses the CP (many mods I do believe) can just figure out whats happened in their own time?

do recall the thread Ilteroi started about all of this ended in vagueness and confusion as to what was even going to be done, https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/idea-scrap-the-fortify-mission.631652/page-9#post-15109439, and that I had politely inquired as to what was actually done the same day it rolled out. Tact. Decorum. :nono:

I don’t speak for other members of the team. I speak for the project as a whole and myself. If you have a problem with something ilteroi has done, take it up with him directly, don’t just moan in a public thread.

I speak for the trees

I speak for Tact and Decorum. Such a nice idea for tattoos! "Tact" would be imprinted in between the knuckles of my left hand, and "Decorum" in between those of my right hand...

...with which I hold Lucille.:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Unrelated.

I'm playing a multiplayer game of 4-20-4 with my buddy. We are on a large map with AI. King difficulty.

AI Siam built roads and forts at a choke point and fought my buddy off for about 35 turns of bloody stalemate.

If we had been in Vanilla, he'd have marched into their capital on turn 15 or so of that war.

VP has done a fantastic job with the AI.
where is the file to be able to play multiplayer? i dont see it on the installation. whenever i play hotseat before, there is a certain version of vox folder that i copied directly to DLC. now, there is none. please help.

how? where is that file? there is no modpack like i've been using whenever i play hotseat
The following link contains a modpack for the 4-30 version (at the moment of writing its the most recent one) with some minor UI-modmods. You can check the thread whenever there's a new version out, usually it doesn't take too long until someone shares a new modpack. Or try and make your own, it's suprisingly easy! Check the first post in that thread for more information.

OK, just captured this one:

Attila's warrior moved from the forest straight into my two units and city range... no supporting units. Suicide or "daring" unit? 4.30.4 + Ilteroi's 03/05 dll. Correct move may have been: one step west, see danger, back to forest. Iron mine is on plains, so no LOS problem.

Gazebs, how do you play this version via multiplayer hotseat? i dont see any selection on the installation. i tried going hotseat but no changes. thanks.

I use Custom Advanced Setup Screen to play hotseat games. It's less trouble for me than a modpack.

Well you are the Lord, but OK I'll respect your stance on the matter.

I think I made it clear I take issue with his procedure in this case, and I have no private dialogue with him but for this public space so this is the only place anything gonna be said. @ilteroi - lets take a moment and use our big boy words next time we are removing features for everybody who uses the CP, please and thank you. oh and, Mother says hi. cheers

Now you’re just embarrassing yourself. You’re also burning bridges. The only person who needs to use ‘big boy’ words is you - apologize to ilteroi and get over yourself.

I try to take it up with the Lord he says "don't look at me, take it up with @ilteroi". so I take it up with @ilteroi, and now theres a problem? make up your mind? but to be clear its a public change and a public matter, not a private one, this is where we talk. but im done talking, I said it all already

@Gazebo Since there's some talk regarding the community patch going on, I was wondering how reliably I can say that it should be compatible with most mods? I've said this to people in the past and in a discussion with Marb it turns out that he got the impression that there's a lot of compatibility issues with it. Are mods that add extra civs still an issue with the CP alone or is it more than that?

Man I gotta stop going away weeks to months at a time so I know what's changed since I last played. Is there a changelog for the whole project one can check out?

Nope. Best we've got is the wiki which needs updating still. Watch out for happiness as that's been one of the bigger subjects lately.

In my personal experience, mods that add other civs are an issue with basically everything. They're far and away the most likely mods to break things whenever I use them.

Is this a mod thread now? Because I really want Sukritact's Suzerainty to be compatible. I love the Suzerainty mod that Engi (I think) made, but Sukritact's has a whole heap of charm itself that would be awesome to have access to.

Here’s the thing. You may be right. What your saying may be reasonable. What G may be asking for may in fact to most people’s minds be unnecessary.

It doesn’t matter.

G has asked for a certain mannerism in dealing with him and his team. It’s a small price to be included in the discussion, and for your thoughts to be reviewed in the greater project.

So dial down the complaint and sarcasm, it’s what G has asked for. So let’s just do it and get back to the discussion

I've recently read about the need to set a written Code of Conduct before a meeting. Apparently everyone thinks of own self that's behaving properly and others are just overreacting. Some people may be offended by things that they should not, too. By clearly stating what is permited and what not, things should, supposedly, go smootherly.

We kind of have such thing implicitly (added to the general forum rules). And explicitly said by developers (G mostly):
- Don't tell developers what they MUST do.
- Criticism is welcomed, disdain not.
- If there's no consensus, things don't change.
- Developers may change anything when they see fit, unless it's strongly rejected by the community.
- Be nice to people that think differently.
