They really didnt. They were awful in the first half of the game, and finally won due to Dallas becoming worse while they improved SOMEWHAT. They were never GOOD that game. They went from horrible to mediocre. Talk about momentum.
Care to explain how the Canucks plan on beating the Ducks when they have scored a grand total of 7 goals in the last 7 games (not including those 2 ENG)? You aren't going to beat the Ducks scoring 1 goal a game. Unlike the Stars, the Ducks actually possess an offense. An offense which is going to roll over the Canucks just like it did in Game 1.
In a seven game series without a goaltender who loves to play the !@#$ing puck so much will prove so much easier to score in, particularly on the powerplay. Besides, Giguere is far inferior to Turco. And actually, they scored 11 goals in seven games not counting the two empty netters. Now, I'm no mathematician, but it seems to me that 11 is greater than 7. Could we get pboily in here to confirm that?
Worse Goalie, but I did bet on Anaheim.Care to explain how the Canucks plan on beating the Ducks when they have scored a grand total of 7 goals in the last 7 games (not including those 2 ENG)? That's just j_eps- Even if the Canucks were overpowering, he'd still pick on 'em.In what way? They possessed all the momentum, forcing the Stars to chase the game and take penalties, and their powerplay finally came to life scoring twice including the winning goal. Add in Roberto Luongo's usual strong play, and they played very well overall. They just lost the first game against Anaheim because they played two nights ago and had to travel straight away after winning game seven. Once they've recovered from the fatigue of a series filled with overtime, they'll take the Ducks down if only because of Luongo.
By secondary scoring you mean third and fourth lines right?I actually wouldn't mind seeing the Canucks beat the Ducks but I don't see it happening. The Ducks have a #1 defenseman on the ice almost the entire game. They also have one of the best shut down checking lines in the league, the Canucks lack secondary scoring. Anaheim's style of play leads to a lot of penalties which is their main weakness - to beat them you have to make them pay on the powerplay. The Canucks powerplay has not looked good in recent times. In general the Ducks are faster, deeper and more physical, Vancouver has better goaltending but not by a lot. The loss of Matt Cooke may actually hurt too. The Canucks have some good players on their team and Luongo is a fantastic goalie but there are some holes. I think those holes are going to become very apparent this series, we'll see.
Not counting the stats you don't like?Game 2-Game 7=6 goals
Game 1 vs. Anaheim=1 goal
Total=7 goals
I wasn't counting Game 1 vs. Dallas, which was the only time in the entire series where the Canucks actually had some offense.
And how is Giguere inferior to Turco? Both are great goaltenders, and Giguere has the experience of a Stanley Cup run.
I'm tempted to diss the Sens like you diss the 'Nucks, but I won't. Truce SuBi?4-0 for Ottawa in the first!
The Sens are all over the Devils so far.
Not counting the stats you don't like?![]()

Not counting the stats that are exceptions
Fine
And Vancouver wins in OT!!!
The Sedin line is good, after that it is meh. Not bad but not great. The Canucks are a mediocre team with a fantastic goalie.By secondary scoring you mean third and fourth lines right?
