Flip Hero's Log: After I found the computer still trying to send a message years old, I realised I had to find out why the machines had built a base here over any of the other asteroids around the place. I changed my suit to look like the Hunter class robot and attempted to sneak in through the bridge. Unfortunately they seemed to have convened there and when I entered, being late, they took me for an imposter and began to fire. I had to teleport back to my ship, there would be no progress today.

I will be back.

Flip Hero's Log: After rewiring my systems I returned to the ship once more. Once the bridge had quietened down I set about accessing the computers to find out what was going on. I could only find one message recorded on the machine.

"We're holding the fort in command, but they're overwhelming the ship! Something's tearing a path down there, send help immediately!"

Explains the damage to the ship.

Many years ago, when the human race was still a major player in the galaxy, experiments were carried out to test the full range of machine emotions and whether they were actual capable of realistic simulation of feelings. As resources dwindled and debts rose, the robotic science division for testing was shut down and replaced with a military focus. The resarchers who were trying to create a better future set about making a darker one.

The main goal of that experiment was actually to determine whether machines could feel fear. Certainly the ones with no AI couldn't, but those with some semblance of intelligence were undergoing testing to ensure they were fit for the kind of jobs that would require no self preservation or survival instinct. In the end, the tests were cancelled without a satisfactory resolution. But if those researchers could see Takhisis in his last moments, they would have their answer.

It appears the meatbag threat is capable of discarding the emotional response of revenge. Perhaps they're capable of camouflaging themselves amongst machine. We may need to devise an algorithm to trick them into exposing their soft squishy underbellies so we can extract their juices.
