NOTW XXXIX: Impending Retribution Game Thread

I'm not avoiding responsibility for anything. (and OOC: if you must come back after this game, like every other game you've been proven wrong about private message problems, I can quote the exact PMs that make it extremely obvious I'm right) And also, you've rather misquoted me at least twice there, one statement was the next day after Diamondeye was dead and you're implying it wasn't, the other statement you cut out whole paragraphs down to half a sentence taken out of context.

I admit I should have directly contacted Diamondeye myself if I'd known what I know now in retrospect, and Methos never should have even been elected Captain. The reason I hesitated was because I worried it was Diamondeye himself who was a Rogue and after items, because the rogues obviously are after some sets of items, and it wasn't worth getting myself revealed or killed at the time.

I can't quote the exact PMs to Methos, but again, Diamondeye only got lynched 2 gamedays, or 4-5 days of real time, when I'd been telling Methos and Renata extremely specifically to find out what items Diamondeye was looking for and why. They refused to acknowledge my concerns on that and I have no clue what they actually told Diamondeye in private, but this was all before anything happened in the thread. I didn't know Diamondeye was an item scanner, that he had that Inventory sheet, or anything of the sort until it was too late and he was being lynched. At the least it seems Methos ignored me and never bothered to actually talk to Diamondeye, at the worst, he and others knew everything that made for good evidence of Diamondeye's Innocence, and didn't tell me, nor ever got control of things in thread.

And in case I want to clarify - later when our ship's back in port and the records can be examined I want to be clear what I meant, for those others who already had PMs/were involved too. This doesn't even speak to Zack's Innocence or anything I think about him, just in case he wanted to make a fuss over something irrelevant though.

I looked up a first PM between myself, warning Captain Methos to look into what items Diamondeye was after and why, which was on February 2nd, SIX days before Diamondeye was executed. The message was quite clear and I'd think anyone reading that PM (which is just going to be me and Methos for now of course) would obviously see the exact concerns laid out. There was follow through and more PMs the time that Diamondeye was actually being lynched as well as discussion with others that remain none of your concern, but again, our Captain certainly had the opportunity to ask Diamondeye the things that could have indicated his Innocence. Did Methos actually talk to Diamondeye or just threaten to get rid of him or mess around with the sprig issue and ignore everything else? Was it Diamondeye who refused to answer in turn and the late Commander's stubbornness really was at fault? I don't know those things, but everything above is fact and that's what I'm saying has been worth looking back on in light of today.

I had the Decryption Key, and have always had it until I gave it to CCRunner, because I was the one who designed it. Now I have heard of three people that need the decryption key: Earthling, Nictel, and CCRunner. Could three innocent sailors all really need the same item? I am quite suspicious that this ins’t the case and that one of them is in fact lying. I currently find Earthling the most suspicious out of all of them because I know for a fact he has been lying about the decryption key, so I will go ahead and say I plan on putting you in the brig tomorrow if possible.

Also, does anyone need access to the magazine tonight? It looks like it could use some repairing, and I can give someone access to it if they need to do so.

Earthling. Methos is not a rogue. He has known my ability since day 2. Even if he allowed me to live that long he wouldn't have allowed me to scan Darth last night and survive to tell about it today. Is he a saboteur, I don't know but I suspect he isn't considering his efforts to repair the ship.

Diamondeye's undoing was his own fault. No one else. He gambled with his accusation against Sprig, it didn't work out. His skills will be missed but laying blame now helps nobody. He also threw me under the bus before his demise. That certainly assuages some bad feelings about how things went down.

If anyone is to blame for forcing my hand to reveal my skillset, it's you and this tangential rant that distracted everyone from the real issue today that we discovered a murderer. So thanks for forcing me to be so blunt. I saw how the winds were shifting and this sacrifice nets at least one true rogue. You can thank me tomorrow if I'm still alive.

OOC: let's leave other games out of this shall we? And regarding PMs, a lot of people are busy IRL at various times, and it's hard to predict. Even if you aren't extremely busy, don't expect people to be obligated to put their time into the game in large chunks; people play mafia presumably to have fun, so while it is probably fair to expect 15 minutes of effort/day, don't be making a huge deal out of non-game related time spans. Especially not little nit picky things.

Now game related:

Earthling has been consistent in his private claims and public claims with his goal to have the decryption key from fairly early on in the game; it can all be a lie, but what is the situation with Nictel and CCrunner?

Earthling also did crusade about access very early on in the game (about limiting it) and that does fit with his roleclaim. Now, that role could still be a scummy role, but at least it is consistent.

Regardless, darth is the best choice for today. Let's look closely at what happens at night.

I’d love to see some new crew members step up and jump into the fray. Some sailors have been pretty subdued for most of our cruise and it would be nice to get some more discussion from our more silent members.

In all the fuss, I believe I have yet to vote. Darth Caesar for obvious reasons, Methos has done a fair job with the crates so far, and no opinion on the other items. Also, one last comment:

CCRunner today claimed to me that he had the Key the whole time, but now that's not the truth.

Neither is this statement... I actually stopped replying to your PM's altogether yesterday cause I got sick of being constantly threatened... Like I told you, I don't negotiate with terrorists; maybe once you come back with a slightly more civil attitude I'll start replying again, and *then* you can return to misinterpreting my words. But really, there's no excuse for misinterpreting no words at all.
