NOTW XXXIX: Impending Retribution Game Thread

I'm suspicious of those that feel that repairing the helicopter is so urgent. I can understand that it's something to do eventually, but surely this does not mean it is our top priority, and surely there is someway to access the hangar without the master key. I'm willing to give the key to Autolycus for now.

While I agree, consider that it is a gunship and could possibly help in defending our ship. Having said that, I still feel that repairing the ship is of more importance then the gunship.

OOC: And the obvious reason that someone is hoping to use it to escape the ship...

"Comander Methos, I haven't heard any other suggestions on what we should fix instead. Heard a lot of accusations though sir. And non of the other candidates for the key seem to have a coherent plan to use it, or at least not one that has been voiced while I was in the room."

YARRR if'n I be made captain, I promise you a cruel, brutal, tyrannical dictatorship the likes of which ye have never seen.

I will make you walk the plank just to amuse my parrot.

(OOC: Sorry for not too many posts- RL isn't being kind to me as of late.)
If Commander Diamondeye wishes Methos Captain, then Captain ye shall be! As for the key, Autolycus can have the key, and Commander DE can take the gun.
As for the lynch, Askthepizzaguy doesn't exactly tickle my peach. I started actin' like a pirate WAY before all you scallywags, but this fool wants to pretend like he's an expert. Ludicrous.

YARRR, What more could I expect from some landlubber. TO THE PLANK WITH YE!

I'm not sure about that, I mean, I'm almost positive I heard somebody saying something about fixing the pumps... you know, those things that are keeping us from potentially taking on water? Or the engine, aka the thing that continues to move us towards our home port. While obviously repairing every part of the ship should be a priority, I fail to see how the gunship can help more than fixing either of those things. The engine would probably be my first pick of those, since as of yet we're not sinking, and getting home faster is always good.

That said, I would like to point out something nobody has mentioned: Fix the electrical room. The numerous electronic systems we have offline should be our first priority. We currently have no idea where we're going (GPS) no protection from either hostile missles or mines (Aegis and Sonar), can't use our weapons to retaliate, though that is probably less of a priority too for now(Missile terminal and Nuke Terminal) and have no secure communications (MTAC). Compare this to missing the helicopter, which, to quote our late commander: "It Flies".

Plus the fact that it's the least damaged means we can have it back up the fastest, and hopefully be fully protected come tomorrow, depending on how many people are working on it. Once I'm not living in fear of getting blown to kingdom come by a submerged mine we can finally fix the helicopter. I would like to reiterate my support of Autolycus on the condition he go back to his original plan (not the helicopter), or failing that, Renata as my second choice, followed by Methos (only cause I dislike the trend of giving him everything), followed by everyone else sane, followed by the people that would risk my life to abandon ship.

Ninja edit: Cross post, this is in reply to Duke Blackstone above me

I agree, the Helicopter should be one of the last things we try to fix. Autolycus, if you get the key, I'd listen to that advice.

I can accept that.. But who will fix the pumps? I know of 3 claimed mechanics. One can only fix the Heli without tools, one to do roll effects can not fix anything unless the ship is about to sink (still an innocent but it is a PG), and I havent talked to the last one closely (although i'm sure he would help. Other than the fact that he is clearly allied with Commander DE, what is Autolycus's roll?

People don't want me going to the hangar tonight, so I won't if I'm given the key. Back to Plan A. Any nominations for who should get to come exploring with me?

Well I can find some tools, then I will be extremely useful to the crew, since my skills will help to repair the ship, so if I have the master key and then we have some tools to be given to me and I can go around repairing what is needed. The most important thing is for this ship to return to port or find those who are causing trouble, but if I don't have tools on me, at least I would like to be useful. I will change one vote though, I will give the pistol to Methos

(Rereading my last post, I just want to clarify the 'it' in the first sentence of the last paragraph is the electrical room, not the helicopter. You can figure it out from context, I just think it's slightly to ambiguous... To late to edit it I think, so just throwing that out there for clarification.)

Well, with this context I think you should take Classical Hero with you to the Pump Room, (sounds like a likely place for tools)

Gottcha :)

I suggest some of you should put some thinking caps on and try pretend to be a saboteur and think about what would be the best way to destroy the ship.

There are key components that have already been targeted and then randomly something not so critical aka the hanger. Now whether this is to stop escape or something else I do not guess.

However, it could possibly be a ruse, a nice distraction to prevent the repairing of critical systems. It also offer possible cover in a 'look-at-me-I'm not-bad-because-I'm-repairing something' kind of way. Takahisis, I am looking at you.

(OOC: I really can't guess the purpose of the helicopter but as other suggested its existence probably is there for PG and survival purposes)

While I am at it, Autolycus and Duke stand out to me. I am not sure that getting people to cry out 'hey I can repair stuff' is the wisest of moves. I fear you may be painting targets on their forehead.

Still it is early days and we shouldn't make too many assumptions without solid facts.

Methos for the Master Key and Lieutenant Love can have the pistol

OOC : I'm sorry guys but something big came up at work this weekend, so the timing for the start of the game was quite inconvenient for me. I'll be leaving in a few minutes and I still have more than a hundred post to read through before I get a good understanding of what's going on. However, I'm pretty sure that I'll have enough time tonight. Maybe it'll be too late to vote and such, but at least I'll be ready for the night.
Sorry again, but that's life.

I've been approached by someone who desires to remain anonymous, but has information they wish to share with everyone. According to them,
  1. The explosives used were strategically placed C4.
  2. They detonate a full day cycle after being placed.

While I can't vouch for the above information, I do find it very useful in furthering our search for the saboteurs.

OOC: Sorry, its late and I want to go to bed, so unable to add anything further at this time.

It pains me to not be able to see you my love.
"I will set my vote to Master Key to Renata"
