"Barack Obama, the first African-American president of the Harvard Law Review, was born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii. The son of an American anthropologist and a Kenyan finance minister, he attended Columbia University and worked as a financial journalist and editor for Business International Corporation. He served as project coordinator in Harlem for the New York Public Interest Research Group, and was Executive Director of the Developing Communities Project in Chicago’s South Side. His commitment to social and racial issues will be evident in his first book, Journeys in Black and White."

Excuse the title, I was hoping some people would click thinking this was another birther thread.

In fact, this is the opposite.

Today, the President has satisfied all right-minded folk that he was in fact born in Hawaii. Breitbart.com itself has always rejected the absurd cult of birtherism. In fact, this story is really the opposite of birtherism – Breitbart infers that in the past Obama encouraged people to think that he was born abroad in order to establish an identity as an authentic, exotic voice in the debate on racial politics.

Hmm...interesting. So, the theory is that Obama used this idea that he was born in Africa to his advantage.

What say you all? Is this kind of deception admirable for him? Excusable? Praiseworthy?

Who will be the first to dispute the evidence and counter the claim? Who will condemn the idea based on a lack of evidence about Obama's intention?

Obama never used the idea that he was born anywhere other than Hawaii. Everyone who has said otherwise is just trying to discredit him.

Er, he kinda did. Those short blurbs are written to draw in readers. In the same way, JK Rowling was once described as having written Harry Potter while on welfare.

edit: I assumed Obama knew about the blurb. Seems he didn't:

"This was nothing more than a fact checking error by me--an agency assistant at the time," Goderich wrote in an emailed statement to Yahoo News. "There was never any information given to us by Obama in any of his correspondence or other communications suggesting in any way that he was born in Kenya and not Hawaii. I hope you can communicate to your readers that this was a simple mistake and nothing more."

Leave it to Breitbart to claim their leader was never stupid enough to be a birther, but to create their own equally wacky conspiracy theory anyway without even bothering to verify the basic facts.

Obama Birther Rumor Debunked As Literary Agent Clarifies Mistake

The real issue is who is going to "vet" Breitbart and similar far-right "media" organizations given how frequently they have been caught lying and deliberately distorting the facts.

This was obviously an attempt by Obama to deflect attention from the fact that he is in fact a space lizard who is seeking to take control of the world through control of soya bean production.

For more info.

Spoiler :
Or they are just trying to deflect attention from some silly GOP members.

I think it's a pretty ridiculous idea. His being Black African as opposed to African-American still puts him as an outsider to American racial politics, compared to a native-born American. The dead white man's website is inferring things it doesn't understand, almost faulting Obama for the whole Birtherism phenomenon.

Wow. I really have to hand it to some folks. So the incredibly stupid birther "conspiracy," an cringe-inducing embarrassment to most rational political opponents of Obama, can now be explained away as a brilliant double-move by Obama himself to intentionally embarrass the Right. Brilliant. I tip my cap, really I do. :hatsoff:

You'd be surprised how little creative control authors have in mechanisms publishers use to sell their books.
Don't they look at the final product? Even if it is after publishing, you'd think he'd know.

My mother was involved in some books, and she knew well before printing...

Who knows?! Maybe it's actually a conspiracy by the right-wing to make it look like a double move by Obama!

I just went there.

But he's a space lizard who was born in Hawaii, so everything's cool.

Be careful what you wish for! If Obama got the boot for being Kenyan, we'd have President Biden, equally evil but infinitely more stupid.

I thought Obama is Hitler, Stalin and the Anti-Christ ?
