That is no excuse for not training and treating them properly. If they are well trained and not born with a mental defect, they won't be as overly aggressive as many smaller dogs I've seen.

Okay. Did you not read the link the OP posted which shows the intelligence ranking of dogs? No, you didn't.

You assume combining internationally recognized rankings (#2 & #7) produce a smarter product than numbers 3 and 1.

I would've understood somebody picking an ugly dog, if the dog was making up for it's crappy looks in intelligence department. That's where the intelligence factor comes in.
