Olso, Norway, hit by explosions

UPDATE: jihadist forums say a group called "HELPERS OF THE GLOBAL JIHAD" might be responsible for the attacks in norway

Still awaiting confirmation.

Now now!!! Remember:

In our haste, lets not scapegoat certain minorities please...

Shooter at island now arrested according to NRK. Supposed to be a tall blond nordic looking guy.

Various reports on how many injured, or if anybody have died.

What a day :(

Apparently still dead people inside the bombed buildings + probably more at Utøya.
Just one guy? That's good, in some ways.

I'll go with my random-nutter-inspired-by-the-first-attack-and-wanting-to-punish-AP-for-it's-immigration-policies-theory then.

If this guy is also related to the bomb I'll be very surprised.

I can't imagine that the attacks aren't connected.

Norway isn't as innocent and nice as it seems. They are very much involved in oil in shady countries. They are friends with bad regims and are active in conflict zones.
So is everybody else... just saying...

Edit: The police now indicates a possible connection between the shooting and the Oslo bombing, without going into detail.

Also, 7 confirmed deaths now in the bombing.

This is starting to sound like nazi infiltration, with the help of the irish. How is that for fingerpointing?
You forgot that they were financed by the Jews and trained by gypsies

This is a tragic day, life is filled with tragedy, life moves on.

Hey Winner!

And yeah it's terrible.

According to the Oslo Police, they havfe reason to believe the two attacks may be linked.

I was thinking Polynesian mercenaries, but the Thor Heyerdahl link would be a dead giveaway.

Kidding aside, Norway? It isn't known (in the US) as a particularly interventionist country, but then again it's no Iceland or Switzerland.

If this is some kind of islamist terrorist attack I don't think too much scheming and rationale should be read into it. By now, these terrorists take whatever target they can whenever the opportunity appear.

The shooting on the island have the mark of terrorism but bombed buildings also associates to blackmail. My thoughts went in that direction when the "missing bombs" was mentioned (and before I knew about the island shooting ).

Well, I think even Iceland and Switzerland are targets for the fringe, Islamize-the-world groups.

it's safe to say everywhere is a target for such groups.

Now now!!! Remember:

There's a massive line between "THE MUSLIMS DID IT!" and "Sources indicate that a Muslim terrorist group might have been involved." The later being it might be the case but one can't be certain until more information comes out.

I'm starting to consider a new theory:

Its possible this is only that one guy. No muslims or immigrants. Our version of the Oklahoma bomber. A crazy guy with some grudge against the Labour party (The people on the island is the Labour Youth Party, and Labour is the biggest party in the current government, and has the Prime Minister).

That, a fringe Al-Qaida group, or Gaddafi. In order of probability.

That's the Guardian a notable right wing rag.

I live in the US so I wouldn't know - according to wiki though you are clearly wrong:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Guardian#Stance_and_editorial_opinion
The paper's readership is generally on the mainstream left of British political opinion: a MORI poll taken between April and June 2000 showed that 80% of Guardian readers were Labour Party voters;[8] according to another MORI poll taken in 2005, 48% of Guardian readers were Labour voters and 34% Liberal Democrat voters.[9] The newspaper's reputation as a platform for liberal and left-wing opinions has led to the use of the epithet "Guardian reader" as a label for people holding such views.[10][11]

Seems to me like New York Times equivalent, as far as political views go.

Either way - the article specified 3 different reasons why Islamofascists would want to attack Norway, and I found all 3 pretty plausible.
