This is based on the other threads about America-

What do you think about America?

There are a few choices, so pick the one that best fits you.

Be nice, please no over-the-top bashing.

great place, bad administration (it will be said, but thats all ill say)

overall we arent all racist homophobes who feel we are better than the world, thats just who gets all the attention

Some Americans like to blame me for all their problems simply because I live in Britain, and always remind me of how pathetic and worthless I am because I'm not American.

I am very happy i live in America, but just like anything in the world, it could be better.

Darn public poll ... i'm voting in the other one. :p

Chukchi, for what it's worth, here's one American who won't blame you for anything. Quite the opposite, actually, I'd like to thank you and all Brits for being our mother country and gracing us with such a wonderful culture. We've gone our own way in many respects, obviously, since the Revolution, but I'll always view the UK as the benevolent parent and the US as the child who rebelled and struck out on its own, eventually maturing and settling into a nice parent/adult child relationship.

Totally Biased Poll

Poor education system (as evidenced by some threads here), undereducated and overweight people, thoroughly corrupt administration.

Don't really have an opinion about the place - people are fine, govt very powerful so mistakes very pronounced effect.

Pretty vague huh? Have to go and live there to really be in the know, so am protesting my ignorance instead.

yes, but you cant say you hate it for that, if enough people dont like it, they'll change it, in due time

we're already seeing a major shift away from the admin. anyways

How do i not put this in a bad way, but why would anyone in the US care enough about you, or maybe i should say, care more about you then anyone else. I am sorry i could not phrase that better, the point still stands. If a Frenchman told me how worthless i was, i would just smile and walk away, i wouldn't care at all.

Could you find a person that sad to say things like that, sure, but just because that same person happens to be American doesn't mean it's because he's American. hell i had this roommate once that would used to tell me how black people were superior to white people. it doesn't mean black people think they are better. it just means some people think they are better, and some of those people happen to be white, black, American, ect

Also a last note, I happen to like the UK a lot. I have a few friends from there and i hope to go there this summer time. And from a US stand point the UK has been one of the US greatest friends. it would take a really small minded person to call a brit worthless.

I criticize the US a lot but I find it’s a decent country. I just wish we had fewer fat people, more style, better education, and better politicians. But who am I to complain. When compared to all the crapholes in the world, my living standards are in the upper percentile, our politicians are far less corrupt (hard to believe), and our fat people tend to be jolly.

Let us try and keep it that way and even strive for betterment by electing competent politicians.

I've been to Carlifornia, Florida and Pennsylvania and really liked it there.
OK, Philly had a bit of a.. film noir flair in certain streets, but the cheese and onion sandwiches where great!
The people i met were very helpful and polite.
All in all: :goodjob:

I love America, I'm wary of the American government.

good, i am wary of any goverment.

America is a great country but we have major problems. We have tons of starving and homeless people, our enviroment is being constantly destroyed by pollution, and our government is extremley corrupt. Of course the current administration is just making things worse with all the scandals for the past 6 years.
