i planned on moving to a big city, london or manchester probably, and just get involved with the music scene

either way, i want to start a band here, then all of us would move to england and get a flat and just make music there

face it, your music scene is so much better than ours

its all bland metal, pop-punk, and hardcore

I really disagree about our music scene...you're just in the wrong place. I loved playing music in DC, because of the very lively Blues, R &B and Jazz scene (not to mentioin punk and ska). There were clubs to play in everywhere. Even Columbus has a few nice blues bars. You just need to hit the right US city.

yes but no offense, but i would find DC boring

i dont know, i might move to NY, that would be nice

its either New York or the UK now

None taken, its not a place for everyone. I'm back in Columbus now anyways.

as for the OP, I like America. I love American music, I like our food, I love most of our cities (with the exception of the hellhole that is Cincinnati), and most of the people. Our president currently bugs me, but its not enough to change my mind about the country. America is a pretty cool place

Some Americans like to blame me for all their problems simply because I live in Britain, and always remind me of how pathetic and worthless I am because I'm not American.

And rightfully so. You should be ashamed of yourself.

You non-Americans make me sick.

And don't give me that crap about it not being your fault since you were born in Britain.

I don't like the USA very much, heres my reasons:

1. They wage war for bad reasons and end up helping no one.

2. They are horribly in debt but don't do anything about it.

3. They have a horrible public school system.

4. They may be the only or one of the few developed countries to have no public health care.

5. They have a homophobic society.

6. They don't seem to care about anybody else in the world.

7. Like most countries, the poor find it hard to get rich but they always deny it by talking about "The American Dream." The result is that many capable people work their butt off and think somethings wrong with them because they arn't getting any more money.

So anyway, they seem to me to be the least developed of all the developed countries to me. I know many things aren't true with all Americans but many do have a bad attitude and they have poor leadership. The sad thing is that I'm Canadian and our countries are supposed to be best buds.

So, being a teenager from cananda gives you this type of informed insight into how the USA is?

You have a lot to learn. The majority of your points are incorrect, but are entitled to your view. Perhaps as you get older, you may come on down and live amongst us heathens and give us another chance sometime. Might change your point of view some.

Well, he DOES live in our backyard :p

I vote other - I like some of Liberal America, I hate alot of Conservative America, I hate right-wing Christian America...

Gneerally I find America to be a mixed bag, with some really great bits and alot of nasty bits.

I like living here, thus far -- nice area, good people, comfortable living. We as a people are too lethargic, ignorant, and intolerant, though. I find the greed and injustice surrounding our distribution of wealth (as well as the prevalent "sue as many people as possible" philosophy) to be abhorrent. And I loathe the Bush administration and most right-wing politics, but luckily that hasn't personally affected me much. The way things are going, though, I wouldn't be so surprised if that were to change in the near future...

Yeah, I'd say he's right. Either we have too much traffic, or the road quality sucks (if its upkeep is paid for via local control...lots of small towns skimp on paving to save dough)

I side with Slozbadon on that one. A southern female accent turns me on as much as much as Uma thurman's feet.

I've just got memorys from when i was little.

Old southerners male voice was really nice, whereas the women deserved strangling..

in no sexual way, just SMV makes you smile and feel relaxed, SFV wants to cut your ears off!

Voted OK, would of been great but the government and it's malaise on the environment brings it down.

Hey I know that there's lots of great people in America but America does have some problems and bad leadership. I'd say that the majority of Americas bad apples are probably in the south. I'm a smart guy so don't take me for granted, you know pretty much everyoine knows something about American policies.

If all nations would follow these ten simple rules, I think that the world might be better off:

1. You shall not think that you are special.
2. You shall not think that you are of the same standing as us.
3. You shall not think that you are smarter than us.
4. Don't fancy yourself as being better than us.
5. You shall not think that you know more than us.
6. You shall not think that you are more important than us.
7. You shall not think that you are good at anything.
8. You shall not laugh at us.
9. You shall not think that anyone cares about you.
10. You shall not think that you can teach us anything.

These are known as the Jante law(s).

I REALLY hope that was sarcastic.

I think the poll is unfair. By and large, Americans are good people. But their government is what people loathe, and their government's actions are 99% of what the rest of the world sees.

I voted other. Americans = Good, American Government = Bad.

If that were really so, then why do the 'good' American people keep voting for 'bad' American governments?;)
