Orcs and Humans Continued

"Mandokir"

The sound of his name snapped the Gurubashi leader out of his reverie. The human ships were barely visible over the horizon, leaving behind a city and kingdom in ruin. The Horde had won. The trolls and their orc allies had finally removed the looming threat of Stormwind from the mind of the trolls forever.

Mandokir turned to see Zanzil and Ma'iq the Liar standing behind him. The Shaman bowed. "We bring word from Grabjabzul. Dere be no more human ships in da area; da seas south o' here are clear. We can start sendin' da warriors home soon." The troll leader nodded. He had feared an ambush by Kul Tiras ships laying in wait to the south. It was apparently baseless. The victory seemed too good to be true, now that the fighting was over. During the battle, it had been in doubt, despite the numerical advantage of the Horde. The last humans had fought viciously. The cursed mages had hurled magic at the attacking Horde, causing great distress. The two shamans had responded in kind, calling on the water elements to help them keep the last human ships from escaping to safety, sealing the fate of the humans rearguard.

"What of da other tribes?" Mandokir asked. The two other trolls exchanged a look before Zanzil spoke up. "Da Darkspear remain, dey wish to return wid us. But de Skullsplitters, dey left shortly after da battle ended. We not sure what dey gonna do." Mandokir nodded. He had expected as much. The Darkspear, though a smaller tribe, had proven themselves to be worthwhile allies. The Skullsplitters had joined only after Mandokir's show of force in the Gurubashi Arena and the subsequent goblin and human attacks. Now that that threat was removed, the southern troll tribe was resuming its old habits. And shortly, their large force that was aiding the Horde would be marching straight to the Gurubashi territory.

He continued to watch the ever diminishing human ships. Around the cape to the north, Troll Destroyers now tacked to begin entering the harbor. Mandokir made up his mind quickly. "Ma'iq, you gonna take a force of Warriors, Axe-Throwahs, and some Berserkers, and you gonna shadow da Skullsplitters and make sure dey no do anyting funny. Zanzil, you take annuda force along wid the Darkspear, you get on the fastest ships we have and get back to Stranglethorn as fast as they can sail. I take the rest of the troops on foot following behin Ma'iq. Anyting happens, we use da Shamans to let da other group know." Ma'iq cocked his head. "We gotta check wif da Warchief first?" Mandokir shook his head, the bones attached to his tusks rattling as he did so. "Warhammah already said we trolls done enough. We free to leave whenevah we like. De humans are defeated, dey no need us for now." The two other trolls nodded and headed out to gather their forces as the first Destroyer pulled up to the dock below. A smile crossed Mandokir's face. He and the Warchief had discussed other plans that would soon make the Gurubashi a name for all to fear.

Wars of Warcraft: Month 12

Retherokk Strikes Trollbanes. - Retherokk the Berserker took the trolls on the offensive this month against the invading Trollbane force. As the Trollbane's were preparing to finally go home, with the allowance of the Wildhammer Clan to use their lands, the trolls struck hard. The full force of Jinth'alor came raining down upon them as Retherokk led a charge straight into the diminished force. Alleyne Stormstriker sent a spell flying toward the giant troll when he came into sight, this seemed to stun him momentarily but ended up just provoking him. Retherokk focused on bringing the mage down instead of the Trollbane's themselves like he had been the previous battles. The berserker easily took down the mage who's spells seemed to be ineffective with the support of the shaman's at Retherokk's side, and he ripped the human to shreds. With the fall of their final mage, and one of their best, the Stromgarde moral was shattered and went into full retreat not fighting back as many soldiers were picked apart. The Trollbane force managed to make it back through Wildhammer territory where the trolls dare not follow and survived.
(Stromgarde: -23 warriors, -12 archers, 2 knights, 1 cleric, - Alleyne Stormstriker. +1 level to, Danath, Thoras Trollbane, Henry Rhysm.
Vilebranch: -5 warriors, -1 shaman. +1 level Retherokk the Berserker.)

Witherbark Reinforces Vilebranch. - The Vilebranch trolls have called upon their old allies in the Witherbark tribe to aid them in controlling Stromgarde. With a wave of shaman and warrior reinforcements, as well as two more destroyers, led by Hexx it doesn't look as though the Vilebranch are going to be budged. With the relations of these two tribes again growing close, and the decline of the Witherbark this may lead to a Tribe merger.

Stalemate in Arathi. - Lordaeron and Dalaran have sent forces to force the trolls out of Stromgarde Keep which was captured last month in a daring move by Hexx and the Vilebranch. Dakrin, leading the Dalaran mages and clerics to support Lordaeron, was on a mission to hunt down the troll leader Hexx herself. Unaware that the Witherbark leader, Mai'jin was there as well. The tactic was to send in knights at first, this was ineffective with the new support of the fourteen shaman along with Hexx and Mai'jin who easily struck the soldiers from their mounts. The trolls were not fooled to chase the knights that began to retreat towards the small villages that Lordaeron had built up fortifications at, as the trolls worked on fortifications of their own within and around the keep. At this point, Lordaeron not wishing to throw more forces to their deaths, Dakrin led a battle of magic against the troll shaman who wielded nature. Hexx and Mai'jin were taken by surprise by the power these mages wielded, but their combined efforts, along with their shaman allies, eventually overpowered the arcane wielders and forced them to retreat. Both sides suffered casualties during the battle, but the trolls remain in control of the keep for now.
(Lordaeron: -24 knights.
Dalaran: -7 mages. +1 level Dakrin.
Vilebranch: -3 shaman. +1 level Hexx.
Witherbark: -5 shaman. +1 level Mai'jin.)

Stromgarde Blockade Avoided. - Lordaeron ships and Dalaran mages attempted to blockade Stromgarde Keep to cut off any chance of reinforcements for the trolls. However with the focus of the Witherbark and Vilebranch shamans approaching they were able to dispel the magic cast by the mages and mask their approach with fog from the Lordaeron ships that would have easily sunk the troll destroyers. Although after the trolls docked the blockade was reset and appears to be to much for an attempt to flee or gather more reinforcements.

Fort Stormwind Built. - Stormwind, with the aid of Kul Tiras, has begun and finished building their new home Fort Stormwind off the shore of the Modan Highlands. This project took them a good amount of time, but they have finally finished the fort just as Sylvannas Windrunner arrived from Quel'thalas. Windrunner was sent to keep an eye on the elvish prince in custody and deliver the first half of the reward agreed upon by Quel'thalas and Stormwind.
(Stormwind: +125 gold and 200 lumber per turn.)

Davis Barnes Returns to Gilneas. - As a young boy Davis was recognized as a powerful human, powerful enough to wield magics of the arcane. So he was sent to learn practice his abilities in the great mage city of Dalaran. He trained for years, until he was old enough and skilled enough to return home to Gilneas which he finally has.
(Gilneas: + Davis Barnes Level 1 Mage)

Fist of the Mountain Crafted. - The Bronzebeard Clan of Ironforge crafted yet another magnificent weapon yet again this month. An enchanted hammer crafted for a dwarf to use while on the back of one of the great gryphons to do battle in the skies. Although it wasn't crafted for the use of any in the Bronzebeard Clan, it was crafted as a gift to the leader of the Wildhammer Clan, Kurdan Wildhammer. Perhaps the best gryphon rider alive today and thane of the Aerie Peak, this is no doubt an attempt to bring the Wildhammers into their ranks to help defend against the oncoming Horde.

Bronzebeards Call to Arms. - The Bronzebeard clan has sent out a call to arms to the other Dwarf clans in the area. Seeking aid for the future assault of the Horde, and fearing they don't have enough power between themselves and their Gnome neighbors, they have looked for help to the north. It has been answered as the Thundermar Clan has sent a group of Dwarf soldiers ready to battle back the Horde, however the Wildhammer Clan has yet to send any soldiers as they have heard no news about this Horde and are in disbelief of it's true existance.

Gnomish Steamtank Completed! - After months of hard work and tinkering the brilliant Gnomes have completed their design for what appears to be a mobile bunker. They have named it a steamtank which looks like a small fortress on wheels capable of dealing heavy damage to oncoming armies in large groups, or laying seige to a fortified area. Although it lacks to mobility to be effective while moving, a weakness that will force it to be stationary during fights that could lead to being overran eventually by any brave enough to try and charge the thing.

Gnomes Access the Great Sea! - It has taken them a year's worth of digging, but the Gnomes have finally breached the think mountain side from which they live and found a way to the great sea! No longer are they a land locked nation, however this opens them up to any attacks by sea and leaves one extra entrance they'll have to defend should they fall under attack.

Southern Skirmishes Begin. - With the forces of Stormwind forced from there homelands, the small group of humans that remained have led a few small raids on the Frostwolf Clan. The Frostwolves are the knew residents of Stormwind City and have the responsibility to keep John J. Keeshan prison and interrogate him for the Warchief. Captain Reginald Windsor would see things differently however as he leads his small group on minor strikes. With the Bleeding Hollow Clan moving southward into Westfall to help expand the Frostwolf territory, and the Black Tooth Grin doing the same northward, the Frostwolf Clan has been under attack constantly in hit and run style tactics.
(Frostwolf Clan: -5 warriors.
Captain Reginald Windsor: +1 level.)

Trolls Return Home. - After nearly a year of being away from home the three southern troll tribes have finally packed up and started their return venture. Tensions have begun to rise between the Skullsplitter and Darkspear tribes once again, but there have yet to be any advances upon one another. For now it is safe to say that the trolls can enjoy peace, something they have been without for a very long time.

OOC: Great update!
I believe my Mana income from 9 mages should be +45 (it's currently at +35), plus a level 1 mage (not quite sure how much mana a level 1 mage seems to produce 10 mana for Alterac, but Dalaran has a level 7 and a level 6 mage whom seem to produce 75 mana combined)?

We will be happy to serve as mercenaries for any of your needs. Our costs will be low as we wish to support your various causes against our natural enemies, if we are to fight for a human cause we will only expect our losses replaced, if we fight with anyone else we will expect a small profit of any kind. Please contact us if you wish to negotiate a contract (payment in mages or mana-producing items will carry an inflated rate of compensation).

Currently the expeditionary forces we can provide are:

A level 3 Warrior leading up to 300 Warriors, 100 Archers, 20 Knights and 1 Catapult.
A level 2 Cleric leading up to 40 Clerics.
A level 1 Captain (to be hired/trained this turn), leading up to 10 Frigates and 2 Battleships (possibly with extra troops on them to deal with boarding attempts both ways or to serve as marines).
A level 1 Mage leading up to 9 Mages. (A special stipulation applies for this force: compensation of losses must be made in mages.)

Any mixed or combined force is also acceptable, though larger contracts keeping as many of these groups or the entire force together, will be preferred.

Okay EQ never told me what it had on it so I just put on what I remembered from seeing on the tanks in the games, I'll change it.

Crown Regent Anduin Lothar walked towards the dock on the small island on which Fort Stormwind currently stood. Embarrassment and shame filled him every time he looked at the stone tower jutting up out of the sea. Embarrassment because he let himself be defeated by the barbaric Orcs. Shame, because he had let his people down. They had died because of his failure, and now their homes were being wrecked beyond imagine.

However, the tower did fill him with two other emotions. Hope, and revenge. The tower motivated him. It showed that the people of Stormwind weren't completely defeated yet. They had just suffered the worst beating anyone could have ever dreamed of. And yet, instead of throwing their lives away with their homes, they adapted to their situation. This one tower, sitting alone, was a beacon of hope to their future. If they could build this, they could rally together to build a new home here on the shores of the Modan Highlands. The tower filled him with revenge, as well, because he knew the only reason it was built was because of the ravenous Horde in the south. They would pay for their crimes. All of them.

He turned away from the island and the tower. He was now on the landing site of the new Stormwind homeland. This area, in the southern Modan Highlands, would be their new home. Already the landing area was abuzz with action. Tents had been erected by the soldiers, who, thanks to their unwavering loyalty to their king and his regent, and their deeply instilled discipline, were drilling to keep their skills sharp. Others patrolled the outskirts of the camp in pairs of six, watching for any sign of danger. Still others had gone further inland, with prospectors, foresters, and farmers, searching the land for mining sites, possible lumber mill places, and good farmland for both crops and livestock. Craftsman worked diligently in the camp, sawing wood, hammering steel, ready to begin building the first few buildings in the town which had already been named Hope's Landing by the peasants living there.

He walked through the camp, unaccompanied by aids or retainers. He strolled along, inspecting the progress. No one seemed to notice him, as everyone was too busy working. A few soldiers, however, recognized the King Regent and snapped to attention as he passed, but most of the civilians paid no mind. He saw a cleric leading a mass of both soldiers and peasants.

He nodded to himself. This was good. Stormwind was down, but it was not out. The Horde may have destroyed Stormwind's lands, but it had failed to destroy its spirit.

We'd like some defensive items, like helmets, shields and armor, and in return we'd pay gold. The items don't have to be of legendary quality, just masterwork items to help new heroes get some experience under their belt against common foes.

You can count on us, yes, yes, count on us, one, two, three, four... hundreds of us! And we will also deploy this new magnificent machine we have just invented, a new invention that will shake the grounds of the battlefield... literally! Because our invention is big, big, very big, a big invention for us to shake the ground! Our enemies will quake at the sight of our wondrous invention, which this world has never seen anything of at all before we, the Gnomes, arrived and realized the lack of it!

Watch it, enemies of the Gnomes! (Especially you, dirty Goblins!) The Steamtank will roll all over you!

Excellent! We'll order a 100 Gold piece set this month for our Level 3 Lord (Genn Greymane) and a 65 Gold Piece set for our level 2 Cleric (Curancy Pharnsworth). Does your armor also fit mages? Would a light set of armor be possible for a Ship Captain we are training? And will it be possible to send our sets of armor back for further upgrades as we ourselves become more powerful and can justify more expensive armor to protect ourselves?
We thank you for your services and information.

OOC: Nailix, I don't know why, but Gilneas and Dalaran are somehow back to the mana income they had (35m for 9 mages and 1 level of mage, and 1125m for 210 mages and 13 levels of mage) since an edit from. Looks like something funny happened, did you have to restore the page or something? ;)

So since I was out of town and was unable to finish all my homework I'll give a minor extension on orders due to tomorrow at 12pm pacific time.
