Pretty much, though i would argue that they were ok, a slight increase on the original scenarios. The initial thoughts were that warlords civs were unplayable they decided against this in the end.
I've never bought a civ expansion, actually come to think of it, I have never bought an expansion pack for any game in my life. Unless it came in the box with the game at some sort of deal price.
I put no because I don't have enough money. I really would like to get it though.
I'll get it as soon as it's released. There is so much content that I haven't played CIV since BtS was announced because it just feels so incomplete now.
I ended my relationship with Civ4 about a year ago. We tried hard to like each other, but it was always a little awkward. Probably my fault, too, as i never stopped fancying her older sisters...
Beyond the Sword would have to reinvent the gameplay to spark my interest in Civ4 again.
Nice analogy. I've also gone back to CivIII for now, but I'm planning to get BTS, not immediately (I didn't preorder it), but soon afterwards, before the price falls almost for sure!
And I thought there were going to be cruise missiles in Beyond the Sword...
I'll add here (rather than initiating the game thread too early) that with the exception of Sparta who has won CivIVor: Warlords and thus automatically gets a slot (and I suppose, I'll leave a slot for myself ), it will be first-come first-serve. Once I get the pitboss server going with a test game, I'll announce the IP here (and at CDZ) and when you successfully log in and create a password, you have thereby reserved a slot for the upcoming non-test game.
The one rule that I'm planning on implementing with no discussion invited is that double-moves are allowed except when accompanied by a declaration of war. If you dislike DMs so much that you won't play a game where they're allowed, then so be it, but sitting in judgement on them is 80% of the hassle of administering a game and so from now on I'll only run games where they're generally (subject to the war declaration exception) allowed.
I have given up on video-games altogether in the last year and should you guys do so as well. It is ever too time-consuming to waste precious moment of your meaningless lives on staring at a screen developed by people who design it for a living. Try to follow orders of reading subjects such as pure mathematics and logic instead of learning rules how to produce many military units in a silly video game to master over others for the sake of some stupid bragging rights.
