So have the Advisors been given the boot?

No - but then, on the other hand, they specifically said that this was an intentional part of the plan, to force you to put units out there with them. I just hope that they will have special movement rules so that they will not turn around and randomly change direction whenever someone gets in their way!

Exactly thats what I Mean or when he doesn't stop moving and moves right next to a barbarian trol lol l

Wait a second, let me get this straight from some of you guys.

Giant Death Robot: Perfectly fine!
X-Com Squad: YOU'RE BREAKING IMMERSION!

I'm with you. If I can learn to live with the GDR, I can live with XCOM.

I thought they said they abandoned the pueblo in its entirety, they talked about how they had a cool ua that involved bonuses to cities settled next to mountains as well as pope, then they went to do the voice work and the pueblo were offended, so it got scrapped.

Would someone mind tweeting a question @2kgames if they took out the Pueblo/Anasazi out completely or just Pope? [I don't use twitter and don't want to make one just for this :p]

They had to take the whole leader and civ out of the game. Even though it was fully developed. Something to do with not being able to get the idea past the tribal council. The video kept cutting out. Anyway i wonder what civ replaced them. Pueblo is off the beaten path, so I am guessing they are going to add a more common Indian tribe. You'd think the Sioux would be a top choice, but maybe they went with the Cherokee. I hope the Sioux are in though, or at least a sub horse culture plains tribe of some sort. Lakota, or Blackfeet perhaps.

I was expecting more info from the panel. Last year was better, because they kept civ and xcom seperate. There were more interviews and 2K Greg really got us some useful info. This year was lacking.

Why are people so convinced x-com squad is a joke. That would be a ton of pointless work to create the models, animation, and stats for a unit that was just a throw away joke for a few hundred people.

X-Com Squad is in, and it will be a welcome addition if balanced properly.

Which is why this would a perfect question to ask. It wasn't altogether clear. It sounded like they only announced they had scrapped Pope as a leader, but they weren't clear if they had scrapped the civ entirely. They mentioned a preliminary UA and said they had a UI too, so it sounds like a good amount of work was put into it already... but, its unclear

Someone tweet them about this!!!!!!

They said nothing about taking out the civilisation. They only mentioned the leader and were very careful about that. He practically took a breath before saying leader each time he mentioned it.

they said the XCOM squad is an upgrade to the paratrooper Edit: at least that's what i think they said :crazyeye:

PAX confimed four of the Great Works (two painters, one writer, and one musician)

"The Great Gatsby" by F. Scott Fitzgerald (Great Writer)
"Water Lilies" by Claude Monet (Great Artist)
"Tower of Babel" by Pieter Bruegel the Elder (Great Artist)
"In the Hall of the Mountain King" (From Peer Gynt Suite) by Edvard Grieg (Great Musician)

Yeah, I think the Pueblo are completely out. Like Seasnake said.

Interesting to see open borders give a tourism bonus, though it makes a good deal of sense. Could be an actual reason to open and close borders that's not about AI spam.

Also pretty sure there is no espionage resource. There was none on that panel and with 2 new counters being added there is no space so small chance of espionage overhaul in that way.

I wouldn't say the Pueblo are off the beatenpath. In fact I'd say they are one of the most recognizable to the world from the US. Nevertheless, it sounded like the council could not get past the idea of Pope as a leader. The 17th century Pueblo leaders still hold extreme religious significance. There are other leaders though from the 19th-20th century that don't hold that religious significance that would be perfectly fine (but no where as cool as Pope...)

It is because most games are over before the GDR anyway. I never cared for the GDR in the first place. If they want the future added they should make a similar game to CTP2. They should have added a Cold War infantry unit of some type.

While it is unfortunate that either Pope or even the Pueblo civ itself won't be in, I am glad that the devs are trying to be respectful to the group in question, which is something that sometimes doesn't always happen for other video games that portray various groups in a humiliating way. Of course, that's not to say that the Pueblo civ was intended to humiliate the Pueblo people obviously, but it's good the devs had this under consideration - frankly, given how little people know about the native americans in the US and how they're still stereotyped, this is maybe much, much more than I expected.

If the giant death robot is in, I see no reason why the xcom unit can't be in. As someone who loved CTP, I always wanted more future units/technologies/eras. Still, naming it after xcom is kind of a cheesy marketing tie-in. That is of course if it is real in the first place.

I would have preferred Sumer over Brazil, but I am biased towards more historical civs as opposed to modern nations (with people who have the potential to purchase a civ game). Still, it's good for all the people who wanted Brazil, I just hope it is not a sign of things to come. Canada, Australia are lovely places but I have a lot of historical civs I want to see before they start catering to modern nationalistic pride.

In the end though, I am getting this either way even if they add South Sudan.
