Pharaoh

2S 1E of the rice has alot more production than any city we currently have. It could serve the empire to help build our army or wonders.

I like rolo's military plan. We will prolly need another worker for roading towards that objective as well.

OK OK, 2S - 1E of rice that is it then.

lurker's comment: Hey Mice! Another great idea coming from you. Let's see how long it takes for Ozzy to steal it again!

I gotta say this idea is something similar to the Democracy Game that is held on CFC. Actually, the Demogame is waaaaaaaaaay more complicated and requires A LOT of discussion, pools, rules. I adventured myself into it before, but I dropped out because of too much bureaucracy...

Have fun with this baby. I'll be around in the shadows...

Hopefully we get the mix just right so it's fun, with an edge.

Got it.

Mighty Metahu Ptah . So the messenger doesn't get lost , can your confirm the location of your great city. Is this right ?

For good or for bad, yes. You shall have the honors right there my Pharaoh.

I don't know for sure what you shall build first. Monument I believe? I need a save later, when monument is finishing, to know what I want next! In doubt, you choose.
And I believe that, when possible, I would like a farm(yes, temporary though) 1S of the city. The rest would be pretty standard(for now), with cottages along the river, 2 windmills(or 1?) on 2 grasslands hills and 3(4?) mines on the hills. I guess there is not much point in keeping the forests, because the one on hill has to be chopped anyway, so no health bonuses, and the 1N may serve as cover for an enemy!

PS: You can put BUG mod on again with you want. It don't work anyway! Hehe. It is OK, as far as I can tell, only the log don't work!

We have the Henge, so no need to build a Obelisk.....Maybe a granary? ( Arlborn meant to cottage up the place ( I would farm/mine the place, but it is his city ;) ) so cutting the time to get more citizens to work the cottages should be in hand IMHO )

OK, I would farm this city. That is me, I like SE. But I thought people would tell me to cottage it, with all this river and grassland. what is my surprise then when I read your comment?

So tell me, why would you farm?

And I forgot we had Henge, my bad! A granary would do hehe!

I would farm to work the mines and make out it a :hammers: powerhouse. If needed, we could convert it later to a cottage heaven, but that grassland under the jungle to the north seems more adequate to that than this half grassland, half plains city IMHO

As the Pharaoh would say, Metahu -- you are in command of the city (Heliopolis, IIRC). Do as you will.

Farming will allow you to work more mines which will allow you to crank out military units nicely. Farming also lets you maximize the whip or go with a SE, although right now you'd be limited to 2 scientists from a library.

Cottaging will give us nice commerce, and you'll still be able to work a few mines.

To work the maximum number of tiles pre-Biology, you'd have to farm all the grasslands along the river plus the Rice. That would let you grow to size 11 or 12. With Civil Service, you can farm the interior grasslands and grow another pop.

metahu.jpg

(F=farm, M=mine, C=cottage, P=pasture)

By my calculations, by farming the rice and riverside grassland tiles, you can work 1 plains mine, 2 grassland mines, and the horse pasture, and still have 2-3 other tiles working for commerce or hammers.

I like your aproach, slobberinbear ( I would not put cottages ( farm all the way ) and would add some watermills in the plains in river and maybe one or two workshops ( to juggle between farms and workshops near hap cap ) , but I reckon that this city ATM is by far the best cottage place we have)

I was actually thinking in farming + watermills + mines for now, but every time I put a save and/or screenshot around this forum of a SE of me or something, everybody comes on me about cottages! :(

EDIT: By the way, always a question for me. Better watermill a plain or a grassland?

@Mice, you mentioned earlier that with this being Prince that we can be a little whacky.
Hakizamanabag II's suggestion then is that we run no state religion and organized religion :crazyeye: we are pagans after all and cannot worship monotheist religions, otherwise Hinduism would be the next closest thing.

And with city specialization, isn't that up to the governor to decide?

This is right. (Pharaoh has spoken)

This is the most bizarre advice Pharaoh has received. Added to the muddle of confusion from my advisors about religion. Pharoah, like Metahu, is developing a headache. Maybe because they extracted my brains through my nostril in the previous incarnation.

for now civics will remain the same, but Hakizamanabag II's eccentricity is noted. ( a possible fur outpost for him )

The sublime city of Heliopolis will be founded. A worker is on the way there to develop the city based on Metahu's commands.

We will not convert to any religion until more concensus is reached.

Thebes is building axemen to send near the border with France, and to protect the new city , and a worker for the other cities.

Pharoah needs ; Build orders for Memphis. Barracks?

FurtherMilitary advice ,especially from miltary advisor r_rolo , how many units, and where to station them.

Advice from all governors about how to used Imhotep.

Hakizamanabag II recommends a poultice of:
2 parts rhinocerous dung
1 part ocelot earlobe
1 part elephant sweat
served in a jock strap and washed down with a bottle of 1984 Veuve de Cliquot, it does wonders for headaches.

About military: a save would be nice, but lacking that I need to know how many swords Nappy has and how many archers he has in his city, along with the current cultural bonus. For a blind aproach ( assuming 3 archers in city and 2 swords ) I would say 6-8 unpromoted axes ( supposing 2XP from barracks) + 2 unpromoted chariots ( idem ). About the stationing, I've awnsered some posts ago in here ( roading to that spot would be advisable, but I would keep the forest, just in case of needing to defend there )

About Imhotep: I would burn him in a wonder in our second city, but if something more useful ( like the TGL in our capitol ) is being devised I would keep it unused...

Glorious news

Spoiler :

Heliopolis and the Metahu dynasty founded. Workers on the way to develop the resources and then farms and mines. Granary started, defenders coming from Thebes.

Hakizamanabag II . I found a role for you in the Throne room, physician to the Pharaoh. It doesnt pay well but you have access to the ingredients cupboard.

Military advisor ; Great minds think alike . Even Divine minds and mortal minds.

Chariots will enhance this stack soon as you advised. It's 125 AD.

Sloberhotep. I didnt enacted one order of yours. to cut the forest hill on the border. The generals need it for defence.

I have also built a spear or two in the event that th French steal our horses with culture. Stranger things have hapened and then our axes would be weak.

Updates, Confucianism founded in a distant land.

Alphabet and also Mathematics researched. We can get Iron working , Polytheism from most civs.

We need to decide the next research path

Catherine is leading the pack and is Hindu. All others Buddhist. And extorting

I said "No"

ToA built in a distant land apparently.

Our great cities.

Cabldawg, I will mine the other hill in Memphis soon .

Sloberhotep, your granary is built and the library is on the way. Axes flowing to your region in case of war. I'll send an axe north too to defend Heliopolis.

Pharoah needs ; -Research path advice.

- Advice on the question of attacking for more land and security.

We should attack as soon as possible, after having the chariots ( Nappy has a good number of axes, so having chariots is advisable ).

Nappy has 5 cities and we only know 2 of them. We should use our scout to map the rest of them. The aspect of it should determinate if we finish Nappy now or if we give him some more time to live ( he has the confu holy city in a unknow location, for a example) to clean the jungle for us

We need to protect our source of horses. Nappy has 1 axe + 2 archers at 2 turns of march from it.

About techs: I'm just a humble soldier, but I would choose CoL ( unless you plan to rip it from Nappy ;) ) or Currency... even humble soldiers know that a army doesn't march with a empty stomach ( oh, it was the little guy that said it... not so dumb after all ) and with no coins in the pocket

The stinking French must be destroyed, Pharaoh! Look how their pathetic farmers plant garlic in our sacred corn fields! Garlic!! Look how their northern borders encompass riches for the glory of Egypt!

Burn Lyons to the ground, at let none stop us!

Valley of Kings builds/requests:

Spoiler :
Please rename the city to "Valley of Kings." :)

After the Library is finished, please whip a worker out after 1 turn of building it. Then send the worker to farm like this:

Vokplan.jpg

(Farm first, cottage second, etc.) The order assumes we raze Lyons in the near future. If not, please dedicate the worker to the glory of Egypt and do with him what you will.

*EDIT*After the worker, please build a temple and grow the city as high as it will go, then add three priest specialists while still working the gold tile. This will require us to have the corn in our borders.

After that, barracks and military units of thy Divine Choosing so that our Necropolis can contribute to the war effort. :egypt:

Pharaoh, should we not research or trade for a technology that allows the construction of a glorious Wonder with Imhotep?

The Ramiceses line continued strong and vigorous through the ages, as did the dynasties of Slobahotep Cabledawg and Metahu.

The lastest incarnation of Pharaoh is just a 2 year old boy. With war clouds brewing the destiny of Egypt is passd into the hands of War advisor r_rolo the first.

Before the previous Pharaoh passed over he

made this trade with Gandhi , Alphabet for Iron working and Polytheism - and gave these orders ;

These orders for Valley of kings "After the worker, please build a temple and grow the city as high as it will go, then add three priest specialists while still working the gold tile. This will require us to have the corn in our borders.

After that, barracks and military units of thy Divine Choosing so that our Necropolis can contribute to the war effort."

All other city's builds to be made by their governors, even in time of war.

Thebe's builds in the hands of war advisor.

All cities captured to be controlled temporarily by the war advisor.

After the life of the war advisor, the war and Egypt itself is to be handed onto another governor or advisor at r_rolo's descretion.

= (after fifteen turns, hand the save to another. You choose the next war advisor. )
