The internetz need more pictures of women with their clothes fully on, in positions of empowerment. Women will be vanguard of this coming new age of enlightenment. This _new Age of Enlightenment will not be one of intellectuals and scientific method; though it will share the rejection of state and religious imposition, and it will break the status quo. This new age comes not from the 'elite', but from the masses. And it is led by our Mothers, Sisters, Daughters. This time, is for man to support woman.

..so no sexy pics here please. Just photos and stories - as you like, of Women in positions of empowerment. Be it academe, politics, arts, sports, whatever.

Gator Hunters. From the History Channels "Swamp People". Alligators caught for food and textile; caught on baited line, by sharpshooter bullet, and by way of young Jessica's specialty of snagging them with a fishin pole. Landing gators sized ten to thirteen foot and weighing 400 to 900 lbs - this young woman of small body big heart, gets a job done that many men couldn't and wouldn't do.

Nice, I wanna catch an alligator some day!

Does not get much more powerful than this.

EDIT: I've placed the original image in spoilers because she was too sexy in it. Replaced it with a less tantalizing pose.

That said, I think this is a bit more badarse. Saving the entire galaxy from certain doom! Jennifer Hale (the voice of femshep) has spoken to this many times, wanting to see more strong female heroines in video games.

There is a movie about Temple, sharing some of her real life. it's called " Temple Grandin, staring Claire Danes ".

She has quite a grasp on the diversity of human brain. With detailed understanding of how best to foster this diversity towards societies best affect. She speaks of it with much passion and understanding, in this T.E.D. Talk linked below...

"Temple Grandin, diagnosed with autism as a child, talks about how her mind works — sharing her ability to “think in pictures,” which helps her solve problems that neurotypical brains might miss. She makes the case that the world needs people on the autism spectrum: visual thinkers, pattern thinkers, verbal thinkers, and all kinds of smart geeky kids. (Recorded at TED2010, February 2010, in Long Beach, CA. Duration: 19:44)"
