Pizzas: What is the best one and where is it from?

New York, Lombardi's. Or more generally, most pizza from the New York or Chicago metropolitan areas. Absolutely not any pizza made in Europe.

Next thread?

and your basing this hatred of european pizza on what?

i used to love the american style deep dish pizzas but starting to prefer the thinner more italian style of pizza

theres a really good small chain of italian restaurants i think theres 2 or 3, round my area and they do pretty good italian style pizza, and their very reasonable price wise

Being in Europe and eating European pizza, I'd wager.

"Deep dish" != "American style".

No. King Umberto's in Elmont. Creators of the Grandma pie and best Sicilian on Earth. Their margherita is awesome, too.

Pizza Hut
Beef + Black Olives
Hand Tossed

I propose that all American national pizza delivery chains be ignored.

No, Washington has terrible pizza with the exception of a few places that have okay pies. I like Chicago-style a lot; New York/New Jersey has some great places for pizza, but some are terrible.

But, as I said in the rants thread, the best pizza comes from the Motherland. Go to Naples, Rome, Florence, or Sienna - there is some good pizza.

I found the pizza in Rome generally dull and unimpressive. I mean, I suppose I didn't seek out the greatest, most authentic artisan pizza or whatever, but it's not like I do that here either.

I'm a Mellow Mushroom fan myself.

When are Americans going to realise that Europe is a multicultural continent..
How would you know? You don't even think that Great Britain is part of Europe.

How do I know? I've been to Germany, Spain, France, Holland, Belgium, Austria and Italy.
They are different.

But ya know, you Americans, DEEERRRRPPPPPPP this Pizza in Germany sucks.....therefore all European Pizza sucks, DUUUURRR

You've been to all of those places? I imagine you can speak three languages and play four instruments, too.

Don't lump us all in with that "special" poster. :mischief:

The best pizza I ever had was in Singapore.
The second best I ever had was in Napoli.
True story.

I also really like my local Papa Murphy's store.

yup, stuffed chicken and bacon with garlic (?) sauce

but whats the best store brand? We usually buy digiornios and add chunks of ham and maybe some greens

and yeah, all European pizza I've had sucks. My italian friend's mom makes horrible horrible pizza with like 80% crust and 20% topping.. it's supposed to be "authentic" but it's crap. And when i lived in Germany we had this pizza with raw egg on it - ew..
