Poor GOP: Who They Gonna Vote For?

Actually from some reading I've done, Giuliani is more of an authoritarian than Clinton.

Indeed. The NYPD inflicted more tragedies than usual under his watch. If he gets the nomination, Amidou Diallo is going to become his Willie Horton.

As usual, we will probably get two "choices" that differ little on the issue that matters most this election cycle.

Yep. :(

The "issue" in this election cycle is whether the next President will voluntarily roll back the abuses of power and usurpations of authority that Bush has unveiled, or whether the other branches will have to pull the Constitutional equivalent of ambushing him/her with some tire irons.

Indeed.

You mock him, but I suspect Fred Thompson will run and if he does, count on the conservative base getting all hot and bothered and giving him the nomination.

Odd, we (europeans, or more specific: I)'ve been hearing a lot about the demo candidates Osama, Hilarious and Mr Ed but the rep's cadidates almost get no airtime...

I only know Mr. 911 from that list and I have heard the name Mc Cain before.

Is that our hippy european press in action or is it the same story for the hippy US press?

Same story, to put it flatly in case something major happens in the next 1.5 years the Republicans don't stand a chance in hell. Airtime's going to three people who have the best odds of winning the election.

I won't be voting in the primaries.

I really do need to change my party affiliation.

We should have more then 2 options.

Having 2 people without all the important viewpoints the people care about doesnt smell too democratic.

I really do need to change my party affiliation.
Youre not the only one, I myself don't feel right in my current party. However I distaste the Republican party since Bush took over since 2000. I am unwilling to change to a third party because, well, they don't win anyways in presidential elections.

Same in the US, despite former Governor of Massachusetts Mitt Romney raising pretty much the same amount of $ this year as Senators Clinton and Obama, not to mention blowing Giuliani and McCain out of the water in donations.

Obama FTW!

Didn't know that! I guess you're right.

Still, money doesn't help when you're polling in the single digits. Romney has no chance.

Brownback or Condi!

Man, what a dream ticket that would be, eh?

Ugh. Brownback is a wacko and Condi is dead in the water.

Smarter GOPpers are pushing Huckabee. He's just as crazy and fundie as Brownback but he has that smarmy Southern veneer that seems to fool voters every time. Could be another Clinton.

Both Thompsons are, at this point, the main characters of wet dreams on far-right fringe websites.

But hey, if they enter and raise money, they could do it.

Anyone could win the GOP nod. It's not like McCain and Rudy are accelerating. Or were that far out of the gate to begin with.

I read somewhere (and it seems true to me) that McCain, vaunted independent and favorite son of moderates in 2000, has embraced the hardcore Bushie agenda, and in doing so has alienated the moderates and yet hasn't won over any hardcore Bushies that remember his past.

Whups.

There's so much infighting in between Hillary and Obama that I don't even know. Not even the other Democratic canidates have gotten a chance to get themselves heard.

HELL NO!!! I dont want to ever see another Bush in office. He has too much connections with his Brother's Administration.

quite frankly i like bush, and what he has done, he has stood up to terrorist, took a stand to do whats right and decent, and is one of the few presidents that actully cares more about this nation than his own agenda. Everyone berates him because of Iraq, because oh no where at war, personally id love to slap every freakin democrat for that one statement agianst Bush, because if Kerry had taken over in 04, our wifes and girl friends would be wearing a cloth to cover there face by now. We need a strong military leader, not some ***** in office, and mark my words i will move to isreal after 08 if Hilliry wins the election, after what her husband did to this nation, i wont tolerate another. The democrats want to cut military spending, increase spending to welfare and public works, withdraw from Iraq and Afganastan, sign is into the UN world court, and give the UN power over our own supreme courts, something i will not be a part of. Quite frankly if democrats win, i give america 2-3 years before we are overthrown and are no longer anything at all, want a democrat president, you must like forgien rule, because when they cut spending like clinton did, we wont have much to protect us. Wonder why we are still using F-16's, F-15's, and why the F-22 and F-35 have taken so long to deploy Clinton didnt think we needed them. Want to know why we have some of the worst perosnal firearms in the civilized world, its because clinton thought we needed to get the lazy bums who refuse to work into a home, instead of giving our troops the ability to defend us, Bush turned it around, we are getting better equipment and if the dems win agian, well say goodbye to what our troops need, say goodbye forever. As for who ill vote for, i havnt decided yet, but it wont be a dem, you can count on it.

BS.. Just because of 9/11 doesnt mean we have to spend all our resources on fighting useless wars against terrorist that had nothing to do with iraq, and even then its a losing battle to fight a guerrila force with no fears of death. Which each dead terrorist thier group swells with more numbers. Our nation should not be wasting our money to fight for this war, its really retarted.

Any Substanence to back up that BS statement?

What did clinton do to this nation? At least he didnt put us in debt for the most hopeless cause in our history!

No they dont, stop talking trash.

Are you really telling the truth? Nobody can be this dumb. Please wake up and stop kissing the neoconservatives ass. You need a dose of reality stop watching foxnews.

The military is important, but not more important then the economy or domestic issues, we are not a warrior state.

That is a crock of bull whos been feeding you this BS?

first off the M-16 was deloped in 1956 my armlite for the US military, it was set to be replaced along time ago, it never was, there are assult rifles that have been presented that are alot more effective but the government refuses to replace the M-16, heck the M-4 is just a Carbine version of the M-16A4 nothing more. As for fox news, they are the only ones i can trust, after hearing some of the bull that NBC, ABC, and CBS have said, and there very clear bias towards bush, it is actully to the extreme bias that in time past i hear personal feelings stated on the news as to why they personally dont like bush, that is not news, that is personal bias and i will not have it. Why do i say we will be overthrown, because a democrats viewpoint is to make peace not war, never ever make war, peace is always possible and we never need war, democrats opperate on appease, when terrorists attacked in 1993, we said oh plz dont do that, and when they attacked embassies in 95 we slapped there hand and didnt take any action, and then in 2000 with the USS Cole clinton ignored it, and in 2001 with 9/11 Bush said enough is enough, and launced a full scale war. Why did we take out IRaq, because they where a threat, we launed a premptive stirke and im fine with that, we need to take out our enemies before they take us out. The way most think today is that war is wrong, we should mind our own bussiness and it doesnt matter if a tyrant kills 10 million kurds, its not our problem, we will say dont do that and move on, its a bad idea, bad policy and makes the US look like fools to terrorism. I dont care how the world sees america, as long as we are strong and can defend our selves i could care less how many nations hate us, the EU is nothing but Cowards, and the UN is a broken pile of ****

The real issue is that the Republicans don't have any serious candidates other than Giuliani and McCain. (Romney is good at fundraising, but he's not really a serious contender.) Fred Thompson would probably soar to the top tier when he declares, but he hasn't done so yet. (He'll get a lot of press when he does, though.)

Tom Tancredo or Ron Paul are my favorites, short of Fred Thompson deciding to run, but neither of the two have a chance. In the end, I am going to have to vote for Rudy Guliani in order to prevent Hillary Clinton from becoming President.

A few Fred Thompson insiders have said that the recent outpouring of support for his candidacy means he will announce within the next few weeks (whereas he had originally planned to wait longer).

I pray that you are correct. I have heard that the Mitt Romney campaign was seeking his endorsement, which would almost certainly mean that they know he does not plan to run. However, I merely "heard" that. I could be misinformed.
