Possible new leader for each civ

I think that Eric or Leif should be included as Great Merchants instead, at least one of them. It's like including Vasco de Gama as a leader for Portugal - it just doesn't seem right.

There should be a Mexico Civilization; Santa Ana being the leader. Yes he was a great general, but he also was there President like 5 different times afterwards. Not a very good one I believe.

Generals generally don't make great Presidents (ie: Civ4 material) - Grant and Eisenhower haven't been America's best. Same for Washington. He was just the first. And Jackson - he was just popular.

I take your point.

I began this from contemplation of creating CIV colonies, and was thinking that FDR, etc . doesn't seem right for a colonial leader. ( Washington is fine).

Then I realized that the Vikings have only one leader, even though their "reign "was longer than the Mongols.

Would a Brazilian leader seem Ok as leader of Portugal to you?

Perhaps, as long as Brazil isn't included in the game of course. We also have Afonso III unincluded though, and he was the one that set the borders of modern Portugal (to a degree of 96%, but still).

Sumeria: Sargon
Persia: Xerses
China: Empress Wu
Aztecs: Caughtemoc
India: Akbar
Native America: Hiawatha
Ottomans: Osman?
And mainly thoguh, Byzantines: Theodora

America: Ronald Reagan, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt

Ronald Reagan! Why not President Martin Van Beuren? or how about Richard Nixon? I think we would need a new set of trait combos, how about "scandalous" and "evil". This is in my opinion the equivilant of adding in...

Vlad the Impaler
Adolph Hitler
Dan Quayle

This man is not worthy of it, because aside from all of his failures, he hasn't done anything relevant - unless destroying the welfare and educational systems, and destroying further our integrity qualifies him. He has ZERO great achievements, ZERO major accomplishments - the only people who worship him are people who also worship rush limbaugh and sean hannity. i believe that in 100 years, historians will not remember much good from his regieme - and if so, then nowhere near enough to consider him a great leader.

Native Americans: Black Elk, Geronimo
Persia: Xerxes
USA: Bill Clinton (in response to reagan), Ben Franklin
Greece: Jason of the Argonauts (maybe not a leader? nor was ghandi)
China: Sima Yi
Babylon: Nebuchadnezzar II
Arabia: Yassar Arafat (love him or hate him), Saddam Hussein (as legit as ronald reagan)

For America, I would say, Teddy, Jackson, Jeffy, JFK !
thats all I know. =x

Would you laugh if I said Bush?

KIDDING!

No, it's not. Communism is a terrible system, and the CCP should be abolished. The Chinese DO care, but they shouldn't.

Perhaps the CCP is as bad a government as the Bush administration, I'm no politician. But the fact that Hitler is banned from the game because it is illegal in Germany and Take2/Firaxis dont want to lose a potential market would indicate to me that the inclusion of Chiang Kaishek in the game would lead to a ban of CivIV in China... and with a potential market of 1.2 billion people, would be somewhat ridiculous. (i am aware that only a tiny portion of that population will be able to buy the game, but a small portion os china is still a large market!) And yes there is a lot of piracy in China, i've been there, but not everything you buy in China is Rorex or Abibas. Believe it or not, some Chinese can afford to purchase the original.

Whether or not Communism is a rubbish system is irrelevant and a completely different argument. China is communist, and they dont like Chiang Kaishek, the Guomindang and they regard Taiwan as part of China.

Anyhoo, Spain and Japan desperately need some new leaders. America has enough, as do England.

The mod I play included Hirohito as an alternative . I think he's aggressive/expansive. At last I can deal with a non-isolationist Japan.

I guess I don't know Spanish history that well. Whenever I try to think of another suitable Spanish regent, they would still have the same religious fervor that we recognize in Isabella. Could you make some suggestions?

Native America:
Crazy Horse of the Sioux [Agg/Exp]
Red Cloud of the Sioux [Spi/Phi]
Geronimo of the Apache [Agg/Pro]

I watched a show about Native American legends and it highlighted these 3 guys, as well as SB. I was thinking the whole time, what traits I'd give them if they were in civ . I was paying attention though too. I know those trait combos are already taken, but they seem to fit these hypothetical civ leaders too. There's nothing wrong with a little repetition among leaders' traits because their UUs and UBs would be different.

For Spain you could have the other half of the partnership, Ferdinand. He'd be Financial and either Charismatic or Aggressive (and he wasn't a nonentity and played a major part in making their joint reign a success) or Phillip II who would be Spiritual and Organised IMO.
