Post the nerdiest/geekiest/dorkiest things you have ever done!

I hated memorising the thinking/braking distances for my driving test, so I worked out formulae for them.
I founded the Scrabble Club at my college.
I was the only girl doing A-level Physics.
I do all the tech-support stuff for my family - replacing a dead graphics card, fitting a network card, sorting out crashes, getting programmes to work, etc.
I used graph paper to work out an optimum arrangement for buildings in Age of Empires.
I sent someone a Happy Pi Day card.

Hey I've done that too!!!!!! And I took into account the building speeds of the units of each military building as well when I placed them certain places.

Just like you my sister is a wiz at physics. She graduated from college with a major in physics, so your not alone.

I hate physics cause its all math. And I hate math.

Oh yeah i feel ya man. Im failing intermediate algebra and im in my second year of college.

I suck at math but excel in biology, computer science, and history.

I've put serious thought into calculating the technical specs of Martians from the various incarnations of War of the Worlds.

I also frequent forums devoted to tech-analysis of Sci-fi, where the numbers derived are used to then debate which universes could kill which other universes.

I constantly gets into discussion with my history and religion teachers, which ususally ends with me doing more presentations than everyone else.

I also used to play role playing games.

I seriously considered auditioning for the school play: "The Nerd"

But decided against it because that would involve waking up early.

Almost every conversation I have had with my father has devolved into pure geekery. I get it from him.

I am kind of into D&D, and I don't even play it.

I disdain those who restrict themselves to Lord of the Rings or, heaven help us all, The Hobbit. Real Tolkien purists know it is the First Age that matters.

The Silmarillion was too long and took forever to work through...
(Maybe the fact that I kept at it until I made it to the end despite the fact that I couldn't stay with it is geeky in itself, or just stubborn.)

Oh, and I don't mind math. I just concentrate on the useful versions that help at work (Navier-Stokes formulations for Finite Element Analysis and CFD, cost/benefit analysis, Michigan personal property tax and IRS depreciation schedules for computer equipment, just the useful stuff) :)

I used to be heavily into Battletech the CCG game from Wizards of the Coast. The second year the game was out, I competed in tourneys as far away as San Jose, CA, to win enough money to pay bus fare to GenCon so I could play for the world championship. I made the top 25 and enough cash to pay for my trip.

Was a pretty fun experience.

I think the U-234 was much more badass.

Well, the 234 is more active, but I have a special place for the 235.

I have yet to wear that shirt in an airport, although my suitcase full of information on various radioactive materials and the nuclear industry got through security without having anything confiscated...

Back in the day, I used to spend hours comipiling and customising card decks for Deciphers Star Trek CCG...

U-234 was a German submarine that escaped from Germany with a kload of Uranium-235, and a number of top German scientists who were supposed to go to Japan to work on a nuclear bomb.

Consider yourself out-nerded.

You know, just read his posts about women to see his attitude. Let's just say he's capable of dealing with them. :p
