Create your nation. Each characteristic has 6 choices, five is the most, 0 is the least. There is no middle (dont break numbers). Its sort of like a slider, if you are more peaceful then militaristic, slide it to the right to 4 5 ot 6. Understandable?

Nation:
Capital City/Location:
Militaristic - Peaceful:
Commercial - Industrial*:
Religious - Secular:
Army - Navy:
Freedom - Authoritarian:

*Industrial meaning growing your own stuff, not trading much, etc.

Nation: Scandinavian Empire
Capital City/Location: Stockholm
Militaristic - Peaceful: 1
Commercial - Industrial*: 0
Religious - Secular: 0
Army - Navy: 3
Freedom - Authoritarian: 2

Did I do it right, if I wanted this nation to be more militaristic than peaceful, and more commercial than industrial? :)

Nation: Aquitaine
Capital City/Location: Bordeaux/ south westrm france
Militaristic - Peaceful: 3
Commercial - Industrial: 4
Religious - Secular: 5
Army - Navy: 2
Freedom - Authoritarian: 2

Dammit, if Alex wasnt Aquitaine, i could have been Occatania! (a google search unde rimages may be required you guys to knwo what i mean)

I"ll sign up as a nation; if NK's NES gets back on track, i can tpromise that I'll stay though. generally one NES is more then enough for me

Nation: Aquiliea
Capital City/Location: Aquiliea
Militaristic - Peaceful: 2
Commercial - Industrial*: 3
Religious - Secular: 4
Army - Navy: 2
Freedom - Authoritarian: 2

I will play as......NOT Russia for once. I will take the Byzantine Empire

Nation: Byzantine Empire
Capital City/Location: Constantinopol
Militaristic - Peaceful: 2
Commercial - Industrial*: 1
Religious - Secular: 5
Army - Navy: 2
Freedom - Authoritarian: 4

Please notice that since everyone is secular, I've changed my religious-secular stat to 0 to oppose this kind of unity. I can't see how Byzantine Empire, for example, even COULD be more secular than religious.

You think so? Somehow I got the impression from my studies of the Byzantines that Religion while important did not play a serious role in politics, but if I am mistaken I will be glad to change the slider

Nation: Turks
Capital City/Location: Said/Caspean Sea region
Militaristic - Peaceful: 0
Commercial - Industrial*: 6
Religious - Secular: 0
Army - Navy: 0
Freedom - Authoritarian: 6

I want to play with the extremes :) and maybe do the whole moving up to Asia minor and lose my eastern bits. (you know a movement of peoples)

Mwahahahaha.

Nation: Orcadia

**************************

Because of complaints by some people, and common sense, I feel I should clarify what kind of game this is going to be.

I plan to keep it simple, story-like. Using das's economic system in nes2 1. There will be other modifications, such as individual units for your military, different emphasis put on wonders, and many npc's.

Most likely, I will create a timeline to 1000 bc. Then, we will play for 5 turns, and then another timeline to 0ad. Also, I am taking into consideration to using nemesis's battle phase idea, but I am not sure yet.

Jason

EDIT:

To look forward to, here I will keep some updated maps.

btw, here is a copy of Nemesis's battle phase.

Just had an idea for my NES which I will implement, anyone who likes the idea feel free to use it.

I'm planning on having a "Battle Phase" during my NES, where at the end of a turn, the update will be done, but the battles will be listed, the outcomes not decided. This could fuel posting in the main thread, as alliances and nations react to the battles, and make battles a lot more strategic, as the defender, not just the attacker, would have a chance to PM me tactics. The Battle Phase will be shorter than the normal turn, and I would estimate that I'd let a turn run from Monday morning to Thursday night, and then the Battle Phase from Friday morning to Sunday night.

Battle outcomes would be decided in a little report by me, deciding whose tactics were best and of course who had the most advanced weaponry, the most units, the most fanatical/loyal units and whose troops had been paid that month (just an idea of some of the things I'm thinking of adding lol). A draw may be declared, either a 50/50 stalemate, or in favour of one side or the other, which would continue into the next turn, allowing the countries to reinforce, although a majority control would be considered in the outcome of the next battle. This would lead to a lot more realistic battles, spanning a couple of turns for fair ones, especially considering the size of worlds when it comes to Battletech. Who gets the income from that province/country/planet for the next turn would be decided by who owns the factories at the end of the Battle Phase.

This may be the thing I was looking for when I was looking at making a simpler NES, so I might now consider starting another UKNES just using this rule to make it more interesting, or if I continue with the Battletech idea, it would assist the idea of more realistic battles.

Finally, for people who aren't in a battle during the phase, I'm considering having them able to react to economic events, or be able to design new defensive placements or something like that to keep them occupied... Need more help on this bit!

that's a good idea, bannanalee had something similar before he closed his nes.
