Pre-KhaNESII: S.P.Q.R

Hey, it looks like we're having a snow day or two here, so my available time has increased. Count me in again!

The labelled map is wonderfully helpful. One bit that I didn't see was where Corsica, Sardinia and the bit around Rome fit into the various provinces.

I can't wait for the actual start but just for your knowledge I will be nominating myself for consul. I am willing to work with others to receive my part of the nomination and will be open for a friendly second to run with me as a second consul.

I'll write a nomination speech (I'm not much of a speech writer so I'll do my best) as soon as the game actually starts ;)

ooc: I will give my vote for Consul to the one who promises IC to give me governorship of transalpine Gaul.

Alright people, the actual thread is going up now. Ekolite, please post your character submission in the new thread when it goes up.

There will be an update 0, to start us off and set the scene.

Also, I made an executive decision, and all players start off with 600 auxilaries and 100 scouts. Don't expect to conquer much with just those though.

christos - you do know governess don't do wars? You need to want to be a general sent to Gaul, not governor of Gaul.

talons - lol. I would worry more about myself than him, he can't screw up Gaul too much, and governors don't do fighting much. AND it will keep him away from Rome ;)

Actually, Cristos is right in this case. You can be both. There's nothing to say you can't be assigned Governor of Gaul as well as have a Legion, and then go on campaign.

After all, the real Iulius Caesar did it.

You can still manage, build, and spend while on Campaign and with Legions. You just can't vote.

Anyway, the new thread is up! Please go over there and introduce your Senators (IC)!

Of course I would. My plan is to take over all of Gauls and then maybe even move into Germania.

Good luck recruiting anything, nobody has any buildings yet.

Also, guys, we have a new thread for this. Please move there. :p

Oh and by the way am I the only one who noticed WE DON'T HAVE GAUL AS OUR PROVINCE YET?!

Kahn, do you receive an income as a senator?

He didn't say so.

I also think the empires income, especially in comparison to a governer, is very low.

Maybe the empire gets x10 from the income of a province? (Or x9 where the tenth part is the governor's income?)

Nope. You need a province for that. Or a benefactor. But its bot like the Republic goes "you there, have some money for your personal army."

The Republics income starts low, but will definitely go up with time. You don't have governors in place yet, but even people with no management get it very quickly.

well, I was thinking about buying some land to generate a steady income...

So why would anyone want to be anything but a governor?

I still think making the empire and governor make the same amount of money from a province is weird. I mean a governor takes 50% of the taxes for himself?
