It seems to me as if Al Gore has many strong features and would make an excelent President.

Since I have no idea about how to add a poll, I'll just ask for the pros and cons of Mr Gore.

Regardless of your party inclinations, what do you feel about this guy?

Why would you elect the tree's of Endor President?

All joking aside, he ran once and lost. I think picking him would be a big mistake for the Democratic party. But good for the Republicans, so here's to Al's political future.

Pro: Gore wood burns long and hot, so is ideal for those long winter nights when you need to warm your home. As an added bonus, it is environmentally friendly and emits no smoke.

Con: (serious) He's damaged goods. Everyone with an IQ greater than that of a lemming knows that he changes his position on most issues based solely on public opinion. A man of few strongly held beliefts (though to his credit, he's pretty consistent on the environment...even if I disagree with him), he sways with the winds of change to and fro.

Pro: no matter what he does, he's super SUPER serial....

Looking at him as a non-American and as a public figure, I always had a good impression of him. I thought he was a polished speaker who got spun unfairly as being robotic. Yes he grew up with a silver spoon in his mouth, but so does every presidential candidate. My general impression was favourable of him, better than Kerry as a figure.

Gore could not prevent a canidate who would drive our nation in ruins as well as drag us into an unjust war.

Now that Gore looks like a pillsbury doughboy, I would not even vote for him even if he is running for 2008.

I dread to think the Democrats couldn't dredge up something better than the guy who lost against Bush ... :scared:

I don't know much about him - wasn't following American politics back when he was someone - but I'd think him a spent force.

@VRWC Agent:

It's Kerry who is the flip-flopper. Gore is a serial exaggerator. Stick with the program, man ! :p

Seriously though, I retained a distinctly favourable impression of Gore from the Presidential debates I watched back in 2000. Here was somebody in near complete command of the facts in almost every policy area, in sharp contrast to his opponent, who merely exceeded the expectations that he'd look completely at sea when debating. No doubts about which of the two was the better campaigner though, unfortunately.

Sincerest apologies! I was reading from the wrong page of Chairman Mehlman's Little Red State Book. :D

I wish i voted for him in 2000. but if he ran in 2008, i would voted for him.

we need someone who will get us off oil, or atlest lessen our need for it somewhat.

I read his book in 2000. On the assumption he believed what he wrote, it caused me not to vote for him. I guess he has another book out now. If it is anything like the first, I would vote for almost anyone else.

I consider him an exaggerator that would send the country into a tail spin worse than anyone else. I can't think of anything good about him except he was the VP for Clinton. A coat-tail exaggerator that got lucky a great President let him hang out for ten years. I thought Clinton was a great President; I think Gore would easily rank as the worst if he ever came to power. The best we could hope for is a Congress that wouldn't let him create any legislation.

Pros: Nothing; Cons: Everything

Don't know much about him but I'll give this a whirl :

Pro : He's smart enough to write a book (not sure I could say the same for Bush), he seems to care about the environment. Pro #2 : he's not GWB.

Con : He seems a bit goofy. He doesn't seem to deal well with dissapointment (re : him getting depressed and fat after the election).

And invent the internet. :crazyeye:

Other than Gore's view on the enviroment, there isn't much I would support him in. I think I already know who I will be voting for as President in 2008. If Gore is running, it won't be him.

If you're a Republican or an independent, you should oppose Gore for obvious reasons. If you're a Democrat, you should still oppose his candidacy because he is highly unlikely to win.
