Yup, this is one of the things Trump is specifically fighting. Here in Canada they are planning to give EI (without the customary wait) to people who can't work because of COVID-19. I guess I'm not too surprised that the US doesn't have any similar thing in place.![]()

Make sure your fellow patriots keep a distance of six to ten feet between each other at the protest. And now I'm in the uncomfortable position of having to break the bad news to my guards that the city is considering closing the building. A decision hasn't been reached and I am one of the ones arguing strongly against it, but it looks like they are leaning towards closing.
This is insanity. There is absolutely no reason society needs to be shutting down like this for a virus that isn't even that deadly. I'm thinking of maybe trying to organize a protest outside the homes of the mayor and all the members of city council to pressure them into not closing public buildings and to defy the governor's orders and reopen the schools here.
You should be mad at the federal government for not mandating normal, ordinary and necessary things for workers like mandatory PTO/sick pay and not at your city council for taking prudent measures to stop the virus.I don't care what it's called. The government here is now putting an undue burden on its citizens for no good reason and it's time to start fighting back.
Italy had 250 deaths today and it goes higher every day.And now I'm in the uncomfortable position of having to break the bad news to my guards that the city is considering closing the building. The threat is very real once all the hospitals max out on their resources.
Remember to keep the protestors at least 6 feet apart.
The CDC is recommending basically every unit of government shut down non-essential meetings, gatherings and public spaces. (IIRC)They aren't the ones instituting the measures though. It's idiot politicians that are buying into the hysteria and not considering the secondary effects their decisions are going to have on people.
Didn't someone post here that China is donating a bunch of ventilators and prioritizing Italian orders for more ventilators due to the help Italy rendered early in the crisis? Or did I read that somewhere else?In Italy they already are doing triaging because there simply are not enough ventiliators.
