Small rant: My stupid arthritic knee is acting up.

I want spring to be here already but it's still cold and rainy all week long

At least it wasn't stoled.

The complete meme is ‘somebody stoled my camera and pants’. In Egypt, IIRC.

I wonder if they stoled the camera and pants while the poster was wearing them.

Ugh, my mother just drank milk straight from the container. She doesn't care one iota about washing hands or covering her mouth when she coughs, either. She insists the current pandemic is 'just a cold.' :vomit:

She'll also probably go out too, which makes me wonder why the hell I'm even bothering to stay home if she's just going to go ahead and spread all the germs anyways.

I think that the point of not going out with her is that you get to spend time alone.

Damn, March is almost half over already?

I've been sick for two weeks?!

I'm cosplaying as the Year of Hell from Voyager.
How's your isolation been going?

Several posts that add up to "I'm in the running for the Most Selfish Poster On This Forum Because It's All About Me And To Hell With Anyone Else award."
Several of us here are in the at-risk category for dying of this disease if we catch it and none of us are elderly. Thanks so much for your opinion of us. No, really, thanks a lot.

Couldn't get the wife to budge on stocking up a bit so bought some extra stuff anyway. Spent a week basically burying head in sand.

I called her aunt an idiot for leaving on a cruise a week or so ago.

Then she goes full on clean hands binge and clean the house binge.

Now she's asking about money supply and what's likely to happen. Her work will take a hit (freight/logistics).

Her aunt's cruise canceled, stuck in Aussie and assuming she can get a flight faces 14 day self isolation.

Government has reviewed the law they can enforce involuntary isolation.

Poorly. My landlord has been a real... bother... about it. This is nothing new, but my patience is at an all-time low and I'm not doing very well at the placating thing. I just want to be left alone so I can fester in a corner but he's making that difficult.

I had to break isolation a few days ago to get food. All the delivery services have been dead here for a week. The ones that aren't are booked out a week in advance and, according to Twitter, most people are having their deliveries canceled day of. Vancouver is handling this just as poorly as the US is.

Luckily, I don't touch my face in public, I wash my hands before leaving the house, and I don't cough or drip all over the place. The nearest grocery store is also in an Asian neighbourhood so it's safe from White Hysteria™. The only thing it was out of was disinfectant wipes, but it's usually out of those on a normal day. I went right at opening so I don't think I ever got closer than 10 feet to another human being anyways. But it's still not a situation I enjoyed, especially since any kind of physical activity makes my lungs feel worse.

Symptom-wise it has been fairly stagnant. Headaches are less, but chest/lung pain is getting worse. I usually end up in bed around 3 PM these days, which is better than before (1 PM) but not as good as it usually is (4 to 5 PM). I mostly feel like I'm a computer on standby mode, just waiting for something to change. It's difficult to gauge since the original illness was food poisoning, which knocked me out for ~5 days, and then it transitioned into a flu after my immune system went on an eternal vacation. With my health, I don't really expect to get better for at least another week, and if I am contagious, I'm not sure how long I should isolate. I figure I'll just keep at it until I'm better, although I'm already incredibly restless.

Check your PMs.

My wife started developing a cough on Wednesday night last week. Friday she left work early. Saturday she had a fever of 102.5. She coughed up blood and puked. We took her in. Turns out she had swine flu/h1n1. One of my closest friend's oldest daughters also has h1n1. So yeah. I guess the flu just really decided to go absolutely bonkers this year and unleash every strain possible. My wife said it was basically the sickest she's ever felt. She's slowly getting better, but still has a fever of 100 and is super weak. Anyways. Having that on top of everything else sucks. She looked so miserable and it was painful. The flu swab test they shove up your nose like 52 inches looked terrible and it draws blood.

I had H1N1 during its initial surge in 2009, and afterwards I immediately transitioned into having my chronic health issues (although I suspect this was just coincidental timing rather than a cause or trigger). It really is awful to have. Best of luck to your wife! What helped me back then was thin soup and mandatory bed rest.

Rant: I tried to make a baked potato with some instructions I found. It blew up. :(
