It frustrates me because I'd rather be doing something than just sitting the whole time doing nothing. I'd rather be playing a game at home ! :D
Oh sure, I can totally understand you'd rather be doing something else ... but since you can't do something different, why wish your life to be shorter?

Rant: It's cold. My knees hurt.

Fortunately Im just about to finish work for today :) I too have watched that movie with Adam Sandler ;) I wouldn't want to skip it. My point is just having something to do is better than having nothing to do at work is all ;)

Rant : I'm sitting here at work with nothing to do , I hate that :/ I'd rather have tons to do (times fly by faster) . My collegue creates a "blueprint" for making a backpack. She crafts so many things ! From bracelect to backpacks to hand made clothing - It is most excellent. That girls has a talent let me tell You...
There's no reason you can't take up crafts. There are men who knit, and when I worked in a craft cooperative back in the '80s, there was a guy who made crocheted doilies and sold them to supplement his disability benefits.

Crafting seems like something I'd like to pursue, it is really relaxing and very satisfying ;) My colleague even showed me how to make my own bracelet out of a piece of string and we started making it at work .

Rant: Why is that whenever I meet an amazing woman like that , she already has a boyfriend , oh cruel fate .... !

School shooting in Santa Clarita this morning. Looks like 2 dead, not including the shooter who killed himself, and a few more (unclear exactly how many) wounded.

Sod's Law: just remember there are plenty of women going around saying much the same.

rant: PAIN

Slow days at work are great for getting to work on that NaNoWriMo.

Rant: the pain that is not good. I will go to sleep.

Mr KB wants to go out to a restaurant tonight, and the place he picked has barely anything vegetarian friendly. Eugh. I'm looking at the menu, and there's not even a meat-free salad offering.

Because they are amazing ;).
Happens once in a while though that you meet one without, just needs some endurance :).

I didn't know You were vegetarian Mary . Vegetarian food is good but I like my meat too much to resign from it :) My advice is to just tell Mr. KB You want more vegetarian friendly restaurant ;)

Did you bring this to Mr KB's attention. I would never suggest a restaurant if there was nothing on the menu that my Wife would enjoy.
I would even feel bad if she was the one that would have to point that out to me, but it would be a lesson learned.

My wife is vegetarian; I am not. I stopped selecting restaurants many years ago. I can always find something to eat at any restaurant anywhere.

I've convinced Mr KB to go to a different restaurant, he admitted he didn't even think about if they'd have vegetarian options.

I feel it's odd how every salad has meat in it, and I'm finding this common at a lot of places these days :( Even still, I wouldn't want to be limited to just salads ... pasta places in particular I find are almost always sure to have good choices.

My wife feels the same. A no meat salad doesn't cut it for dinner or lunch for her. Thai restaurants can be good options as well as Italian.

I totally forgot:
I got yesterday a rejection for one of my applications.
Which sucks really badly, because it's a world leading institute in an European capital, and my last 2 publications fit perfectly to what they are looking for.
So angry .

Indian cuisine has a lot of vegetarian options as well.
Just out of curiosity, how common are (decent) Indian restaurants in the USA these days? I mean, I'm guessing it's (a lot) easier to find one in some areas than others (more frequent in coastal vs. midwest cities/ states?), but also that they're still a relative rarity per capita, compared to the UK -- and possibly even Europe in general*.

I ask because I remember seeing a clip of Rowan Atkinson performing his 'Indian waiter' sketch** for a US audience, and he appeared to have localised it to some extent. It might even have been this clip, which isn't quite the version I'm familiar with, with his character offering Bombay duck instead of vindaloo, and saying "pitcher of beer" and "taking a nap" vs. "pint of lager" and "having a kip". The skit's pretty old though (dates from the late 80s/early 90s, I think), and I don't know when the clip was recorded either, so things may well have changed since then.
Spoiler * :
The town where I live in Germany (pop. ~75,000, but a popular tourist-coach destination) has 3 passable Indian restaurants, and a pretty good Persian restaurant (also 3 Thai/Vietnamese, 2 Chinese, and multiple pizza/Italian, and kebab-kiosks).
Spoiler **It's NSFW, BTW, and possibly also non-PC, but just FTR... :
...Atkinson was married to a British-Indian woman for ~25 years; and the target of the skit is not the waiter himself, but the implied behaviour of the guests, which was/is also embarrassingly typical of British/English Friday-night drunks...
