I read Menander's "Difficult Man". It is new Attic Comedy, and I can't say I liked it.
Rather forgettable :/
As in (afaik) the earlier Aristophanes, Menander has characters at times speaking to the audience, breaking the fourth wall. I like when he does that in the end, to tell the audience to give a hearty applause if they liked the play.
Btw, Cholargos is still a stupid village :p

Raise Your hand if Your're a smoker ? *raises his hand*

I can't imagine heavy chemical dependancy in my brain could be quitted so easily, but I'll find any excuse not to quit - it's what addicts do.

Banning drugs results in two things: the drugs become more dirty and more harmful, and organised crime cashes in. Supply and demand remains the same.

Regulation regulation regulation. It's the only countermeasure worth a dime. It's not perfect but it will help pull in the right direction when done right.

This cold just won't let me go. At least today I was able to skip taking sudafed and mucinex for the first time. My throat is still super raw and my voice is in bad shape. At first I had a cool Batman-esque sort of husky character to my voice but now I just sound like a wounded animal. And overall I feel pretty poopy, even if I'm not coughing up a lung and draining all of my bodily fluids through my nose.

Your local smuggler ring operations and black marketeers support it too ! :)
Well, yes, that's the problem now that tobacco is grown globally. :(

Smoking obviously causes a vast number of health issues, and it isn't just the obvious/dramatic ones like cancer: smoking will reduce your stamina considerably. In my case, when I stopped smoking for 2 months (vaped instead) I was healthier, certainly. But it is a habit, and hard to break.

It's okay, my little toes barely exist, so it doesn't really impact me that much. It's just annoying because it broke because of how tight the tip of my shoes are, so wearing them is going to make it a slow recovery.

As a side note, I am obviously the next stage in evolution. 4 toes are the future! :smug:

Really weird, I've got almost the same thing going on. My doctor recommended claritin, but after a few weeks I was only getting worse. I started taking twelve hour mucinex, and I felt wonderful for about a day, but now I'm back to feeling crummy again. I don't even remember having a cold!

I feel like a frog set up permanent residence in my throat! My voice sounds like someone ran a cheese grater inside my larynx, I sound like the Wicked Witch of the West.

@Synsensa, whatever did you put in the wine???

I broke one of the toes on my left foot years ago. It healed crooked and still hurts sometimes, but the doctor said the only way to fix it would be re-breaking it. So be careful that it doesn't heal crooked.

Do either of you have any discharge from your lungs when you do cough? Maybe get checked for laryngytis. When I got it a few years ago, probably about 60% of the other people who got it at the same time didn't have the coughing but did have all the rest.

My little toes are already crooked. :smug:

I did for the first week of the cold but now my coughs produce nothing. I'm also coughing a lot less now overall.

Yup it would take an entire unanimous U.N world wide ban coupled with declaring war on North Korea
Spoiler :

to take tobacco off the market ;)

This is purely anecdotal, but for colds and coughs things I sometimes found it helped a little to sleep with pillows propping up instead of laying flat. I don't know if there's a reason for this.

Icky stuff drains out instead of into your sinuses.

We should send more premium cigarettes to NK and encourage Kim to smoke a bit more.
