Disposable implies we ever had a purpose to begin with.

As someone for the upper classes to point out as "leeches" so that the middle-class don't start thinking to look upwards....

Which is probably the reason a UBI will never happen. We can afford it. We just don't want to.

I'm starting to sound like a radical here. :undecide:

And you should. Because "radical" just means people who want to live now. "you want to live, you radical, you".

The opposite of love is not hate, it's indifference. The opposite of art is not ugliness, it's indifference. The opposite of faith is not heresy, it's indifference. And the opposite of life is not death, it's indifference. Because of indifference, one dies before one actually dies. To be in the window and watch people being sent to concentration camps or being attacked in the street and do nothing, that's being dead.

Conservatism is a lack of empathy for those unlike you. It is indifference to their plight. It is the opposite of being good.

And it is ascendant in the world today.

I just find it....kind of sad that CERB gets you $2000 a month and was rolled out within weeks, while the "disability support..." one-time $600 dollars, gated behind a stupid tax credit that's painful and kind of pointless* for a lot of disabled Canadians to get, (though I think they expanded it to those who get CPP-D), and is coming at some indeterminate date "in the fall."

Meanwhile, costs have increased across the board. A lot of disabled people are also immunocompromised so they have to pay more for deliveries and such. And when the limits on medications were a thing there were extra dispensing fees.

*It's a nonrefundable tax credit, so it's only helpful if you have enough income to tax. And some doctors charge to fill out the forms.

Where is that place? Doesn't this belong in the Guess the Map 11 thread? By the color I'm guessing it is a distorted map of the old soviet union.

I assume not.

The gas stove is suspiciously flameless.

The Sims is designed around the principle that Simlife is a 1960’s American TV sitcom as viewed from marketing executives in Silicon Valley.

There are no canisters.

Not 60s ... I'd say The Sims is a game version of the show Full House.

*facepalm* and only now I realized you're talking about the stove barely noticeable in the corner of that screenshot, not a new, separate rant.

Klingon Lives Matter? Oh, the airline.

I was talking over the phone earlier and the subject of boneless chicken wings came up and how someone was upset that they called them wings despite having no wing meat. It just reminded me of wyngz (which I guess it supposed to be pronounced the same way.)

Well, I'm having none of it. If I see that word, I read it as why-ngg zzh. There's a hard stop between the ngg and the zzh because that's how it's spelled.

I call them boneless wings mostly because I only ever get them from a place that traditionally offers wings.

If I get them from a movie theatre or something, I switch to "chicken bites."
