I'm not sure what I did exactly- think I pulled a muscle or something- but the back of my neck has been kinda stiff and sore all day and it's a continual struggle to find a comfortable way to hold it.

Apply heat!

I don't have like a heating pad or anything

Mostly my way of handling it has just been periodically lying down

Heat a damp towel in a microwave for 1-2 minutes

I carried my alarm clock from my bedroom to the computer room. I put it down when I noticed that Maddy had tipped out yet another garbage can. I've picked up the mess, made sure I did not accidentally put the clock into the garbage and now I can't find the clock. I can't even wait for the alarm to go off because it isn't on.

I'm... also a bit lacking in clean towels the appropriate size to do that. Tried a wad of paper towels instead and they just didn't stay warm all that long (and also kinda disintegrated)

@choxorn One last try: fill a clean sock with raw rice and heat that. Knot the end or close it with something not metal. Dampen the sock first.

I have socks but not rice.

Washcloths or a cloth hand towel or even a small bath towel will work. Just make sure it is damp.

I can try to find something like that, I guess.

Really the soreness itself isn't that bad, it's just constantly there and sometimes gets slightly worse or radiates outward into the top of my head or my shoulders if I hold my body or pressure something in the wrong way, and that's certainly annoying.

Good luck. It is past my bed time. I hope your pain subsides.

Full day with no interwebs...... Stupid Rogers

Might have just slept wrong, hopefully gone tomorrow. (unless it's caused by a bad pillow)
For such cases I have a cherry-pit-cushion (for heating in the microwave), or also some heat-cream and heat plasters from the pharmacy. Just had the issue too often.

This is why fruit juice exists! :goodjob:

True, but not exactly the same thing. Having a fruit in the afternoon is for the little hunger, a glass of juice will not do it :/.

Might be, but I didn't actually have this problem when I woke up this morning, it started when I was showering and just suddenly felt a twinge in my neck.

I once pulled a back muscle by... I think getting up from my chair. Or something comparable. So that can all happen. Fingers crossed that it's gone soon :).

I've definitely also pulled muscles in ways like that, where you do it and think "how the hell, I was barely even using that one!"

You could also try Deep Heat, which is sometimes used for sporting injuries and muscle pain.

I waited roughly 2 weeks due to high temps to paint most of upstairs window frames, both structural & those with the glass itself, as the forecast was ~21-24C & no rain in sight for several days. Painted Thursday afternoon & it started raining Friday morning and now there isn't a rain-free day for a week apparently.
The paint managed to get touch-dry but it really shouldn't be exposed to elements before 5th day or so like the frames are now. I really hope that the roof overhang would be larger atm but a bit late to do anything about that now.
The outer windows are sort of safe at garage and in the 'aquarium' which is the space under the balcony with plexi glass walls. Good for storaging but I can only paint them in garage - two at the time. They need to dry at least over night preferably 24hrs before painting the other side so this project will take some time that I wasn't planning for

Lovely.

Another word would also be suitable to describe the situation but I'll leave that unwritten. Those in neighbouring countries probably were woken up by it on Friday morning. Sorry about that.
