Seriously, how can this have 1,5 million views? What's the point of the "???" at all?...

If white faces up down and black faces down up then I think black can get something done by having the horse take the queens in a3, c4 and d6. White can only move pieces along the lower edge of the board and those queens are unsupported, and black's king is hemmed in by pieces that cannot attack it.

Maddy got into my Ritz crackers.

No, that's not the worst I could rant about. But at least it's something I can rant about and not get reprimanded for inappropriate language.

It's a meme channel, the weirdness and the ??? is the point

Well yes, but it is so obvious that the views don't make sense. The "???" clickbait makes it worse.

I agree with @ Takhisis

If white is facing down, I see a mate in three.

Black N x Q
White Rd8
Black N x Q
White Rd7
Black N x Q mate

Why does it matter which orientation the board is in? None of the relevant peices are limited by orientation, only pawns are.

If white was facing up, the black knight would be captured after taking the second queen by either of the two white pawns.
This is why I do not play chess. I can look at the board and see some moves, but I frequently miss obvious and important ones.

Nowadays chess channels often present weird settings, like the horde one (the enemy only has pawns, but they fill half the board), possibly because we all know computers defeat even the best human chess player handily.
But chess was in modern times already centered on memorizing progressions, so that you can be aware of most of what comes in (say) up to 10 moves ahead, and so use the historic database of games to advance. So it should be far less about creativity, and primarily about being trained to do this type of calculation fast (time limit) along with using your memory.

Well, yes, it is clickbait.

I was using a 1500psi power washer with a green tip the other day and thought to myself, "slightly dangerous, but only a moron could injure themselves with one of these."

Then the thing I was washing tipped and fell over while I was washing it and holding onto it.

........

"Ughh, maybe it will be ok.
Nope, blood is starting to surface very slowly."

...
Damn it!
A faint triangle scar on the back of my hand.
I look like a cultist now. >_<

If anyone comments, just say that you really love geometry.

Walrus Freya who became attraction in Norway's Oslo Fjord put down

A walrus that had become a popular attraction in the Oslo Fjord has been put down out of concern for the safety of the public, Norwegian officials say.
The walrus, nicknamed Freya, rose to fame after clambering on to boats to sunbathe - sometimes sinking them.
People refused warnings not to get too close to the 1,300lb (600kg) animal, putting her and themselves at risk.
On one occasion, police blocked off a bathing area after the walrus chased a woman into the water, local media say.
Last week, Norway's fisheries ministry issued a photograph of a large group of people, including children, standing within touching distance of the animal.

Booking my trip to Chicago for Model United Nations staff training, and I try to carpool or go by Amtrak. Since carpool isn't working out this year I am going by Amtrak, and the schedule changes are bad. Pushing back arrival in chicago by an hour, and arrival in St Paul by half an hour. Now it means if Amtrak is delayed a notable amount, I will miss my Metra connections and have to take the El out to O'Hare from Union Station; and even if I'm on time I'm only getting into St Paul at 11pm if everything is on time. FML. Amtrak, why you make it so hard for me to try and be conscious of the environment? Would have been easier to drive there and just donate my gas bill to Greenpeace, cheaper too.
