Rant: I sent a piece of mail to the wrong address. :( I'm so bad.
Spammer!
Edit Rant: Why do the emotes still have Santa hats?
Because it ain't over till it's over. It's just one day past the Orthodox xmas, and the "Old New Year" is to be celebrated on the 12th-13th night if my math doesn't fail me.

Be tolerant to other cultures, pal.

Can someone tell me how kindergarten in North America works? Are basic lessons such as "put things back the way you found them" and "clean up your own mess" not taught or what?

It was basically guided playing - drawing on paper with crayons to use as a placemat, sing and dance along to this song, let's eat a snack and then clean up the placemats and put them away. There was a computer with some old Sesame Street game on it we all wanted to play (this was in the 80's.)

I remember they had a cop come talk to us once.

I don't remember ever having naptimes in kindergarten.

I was up far too late last night (this morning?), reading Life is Strange fanfics. I never read fanfiction.

Just what I came here to post about. :(

Are you kidding me? Another MSF facility bombed? Reminder that it stands for "Médecins Sans Frontières", not "Militaires Sans Frontières".

A few months back, I made a post here complaining about how my right ear feels blocked, how it's on the inside and it isn't wax, how it's been driving me nuts for over a year now.

Anyways, my appointment with the ENT was today. He ended up perscribing some vitamins (!) called lipoflavinoid. It's supposed to help with fluid that's trapped in the middle ear.

I was almost certain I was going to have a myringotomy. Instead I end up with a perscription for some vitamins. Whatever. Hoping it works.

Hope is good, but can you find another doctor to have a second independent opinion?

I'm not a doctor, only biologist, but even on my level of understanding the prescription is odd.

To start with, according to its description, Lipoflavonoid is associated with circulation of liquid in the inner ear, not middle ear you say you have problems with. Taking some vitamins is always good (if you don't risk hypervitaminisation), but it does not seemingly address the problem at hand as you describe it. Besides, Lipoflavinoid is technically not a medicine, so it has not been tested like one, so there is no proof whatsoever that it actually works even for the problem it is described to be for.

Anatomically, Eustachian tube is what's responsible for liquid/mucus drainage from the middle ear. If this function is failed, that indicates that there is some reason for that, like swelling due to inflammation, or anatomical peculiarity of your particular body, or clog, or something else, or all of that together. It has to be examined, and it is strange that it is being not.

For God's sake, there can be a tumor as well blocking the way, and it's weird that the doctor makes no attempt to find out what it is.

Menieres disease is worse.

My left ear is completely dead, though I can hear sound from within my mouth perfectly fine, and actually louder on my left side because the auditory nerve is unused to being stimulated.

And I don't want cochlear implants.

He didn't tell me anything about menieres disease, although it appears that's what lipoflavonoid is indicated for, and I have all it's symptoms.

Have you been diagnosed with menieres, bhavv?
