That is an omen.
Bad luck happens in threes, three things occurred, so Aimee is due some good luck.

To my utmost despair, I suddenly enjoy peas.
[singing] "All we are say-ing... is give peas a chance..." [/singing]

I miss having a garden with fresh peas. I love broccoli, too.

I always forget just how horrible people in Ontario are, especially older generations. Everyone seems to think that they own the world. I only had to drive one day to pick up my cousin, but what a terrible experience that was. So many old men yelling at staff everywhere. Someone took something he wanted out of my shopping cart when I was getting groceries! Another person just totally cut in front of me in line. So many little experiences, people are just generally rude everywhere you go. I always end up feeling like I'm in some stereotypical rendition of New York City or something.

#HappytobeHome

Employees practically snarl at me in Canada (they're probably used to the locals constantly being nasty to them?) On the ride home in Michigan, I had to make a few phone calls (to pick up dinner), and go into a few places. People here are so kind, and always smile at you and call you "dear," "hon," or "love," etc.

@MaryKB
When I am out and about around town and I find myself being yelled at, regardless of where I am, what I am doing and even regardless of who is at fault -

There is a >50% chance it's an older white dude doing the yelling. A big part of that is demographics for sure but the rest is pure entitlement. Not only do they think they are right in whatever run-in caused them to yell, but they also think they are right to go straight to aggressive shouting and cursing, which is where the entitlement comes in. I have only ever shouted at someone when they were about to walk into a moving bus or something like that and it's not like I've never been accosted such that yelling was warranted; it's just almost never necessary.

I have actually written and then deleted this exact post in the past because I didn't want to trigger anyone but now you've triggered me!

@hobbsyoyo

I totally agree, even around here when I see someone yelling it's nearly always an older white man. I see that occasionally here, but in Ontario it seemed that everywhere I went there were guys yelling at someone, or pushing their way through. It's like they believe they should be immediately served to perfection ahead of everyone else. I just couldn't believe it.

Rather interestingly, it seems the only people who judge me about my cane are middle-aged white ladies.

That is odd. My grandmothers are also very weird about being seen as disabled in any way, even when they definitely were. It was like they didn't care if they were disabled, they just didn't want other people to think that they were. So they'd leave their canes and walkers at home and never wear hearing aids and stuff.

It's a sexism thing ... women aren't allowed to complain.

No.

None of my USB-C cables are able to transfer data onto or off my phone. I hope that I have just broken all the cables and it's not a problem with the phone itself as it's going to be a while before I can replace it.

When you plug it in, did you change the connection setting to data transfer?

Yes. It just doesn't recognize the phone at all, even though the phone is configured to connect. I was able to get around it via direct upload so it's not a huge deal. Mostly annoying.

But but but... I thought Canadians were supposed to be nice and polite!

Another illusion crumbled... :sad:

You've encountered the Canadians on this forum right?
