Random Rants IX: I'm Mad As Hell, And I'm Not Gonna Take It Anymore!

i wanted to make the God Post...777............ok actually i'm just bored, you got an issue? lol

But you have 1140... :crazyeye:

State schools are awesome as long as you don't mind lecture classes with 200 other students and a prof that just rambles on the entire time. Of course it gets worse if they have an accent which renders their english incomprehensible. Depending on what you go for the big ten schools are pretty highly rated. Usually at least top 10.

My rant is that i think I am too old for this thread, everyone seems like they are in highschool still... when did 27 become so old?

Have you guys qualified for NAQT nationals yet? Good stuff.
I'm not even sure my school competes in that tournament... in fact... you can hardly call what my school competes in tournaments at all (although I can never think of a better word, and I have used it before)

But we should.... we've got a pretty smart team, I'm not sure how far we'd make it though

Which one?
Uh, SUNY Binghamton is my 1st choice.

Well people in high school tend to do a lot of ranting. We have lots of work and we have whiny personalities.

My rant: Amazon decided to inform me several days after purchase that a book I'd ordered used, The Greeks in Bactria and India (shut up, it's an area of interest :p), which had been described as 'like new' by the seller, was not going to ship because the seller discovered pages missing. So now I get to take my refund and hunt for another copy.

Hmm, I got a book from the library last week about Alexander in Afghanistan, haven't started it yet.
Oooh, lemme know if it mentioned Diodotos and his successors in any detail. Baktria, as one of the coolest syncretic cultures ever (Indian + Greek + Persian?), is something I'm really interested in learning about.

I ordered a book about Pyrrhus from a book shop, but it took longer then two weeks for them to find it and I found out the store had some weird policy if it takes longer then two weeks its automatically canceled ( why!). then one copy turned up on amazon for a day then sold out the next. I was so . .. .. .. .ing pissed off.

Oy, that sounds annoying. You've given me an idea for another book though. What's the title?

Pyrrhus, King of Epirus. by Petros E. Garoufalias
I thought about buying used off amazon but I have bad experiences with those sellers. Don't know about any other books about Pyrrhus either.
