I'm not opposed to a common language everyone can understand, but eliminating other languages would make the world a dangerously boring place.

I really don't like Denglish. It makes my ears hurt and my eyes water, and it's jarring to have someone switch languages mid-sentence and then switch back after a single word. I'm starting to wonder what the point of learning German is when almost all Germans speak English and when German is slowly becoming English. I should've learned French.

Try to survive in Germany without speaking German, good luck with that.

Well, yes, but you already were a bilingual person who speaks both English and Australian, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem to communicate with speakers of a third Germanic language.

So I met this girl last weekend who is perfect. She's single and we hit it off pretty well. I knew she was busy. Out of no where she texts me and tells me that she doesn't have time for a relationship and that she doesn't want to waste my time anymore. Given recent circumstances, I figured that this much would happen (but maybe a relationship is possible in the future) but now she doesn't even want to be friends because she knows I want more.
