This new CFC theme makes me feel creepy. :(

The new one?

My own personal theme. ;)

Avatar and location and user title and such.

By CFC theme I just was implying that it's not something that crosses over with my regular life.

I did a bad thing. Made out with an old flame, but we stopped before it escalated due to circumstances around us. She's in a relationship with a guy almost 3 years and I know the guy and the guy is great (million times better than me in almost every respect) and he doesn't deserve this. I feel pretty crappy and so does she. The guy is into monogamy, we're more liberal about these things and thing stupidly came together. Ugh.

Just hope that this will be the worst thing for the next few days :).

Yes, and :hatsoff: to you.

Thanks :).

I lack the opportunities to meet that many girls my age, and I'm not interested in most of them. If you filter for only the ones who are attractive, interesting, and single, you get a small list. Not to mention that I'm not exactly in demand myself, so most people are too good for me. I don't mean that in some kind of bitter, sarcastic way; I mean they would honestly be dating down to be with me, and they could do better.

So it's probably going to be yet another summer alone. I'm getting too old for this, I should have been dating years ago.

As said: Do more. Gets you to meet more people.
In normal daily work life I also don't get to meet anyone interesting.
The girls I've met, and the ones who could be potentially interesting (a great amount of 5 is left, but whatever), are either friends of friends (of friends), met them via sports, met them via my language course. I've considered doing some more sports courses, just because people.

And hey, perceptions are different. My last failed dating attempt, the woman, she was incredibly beautiful, and still willed to go out with me. I have no clue why. Maybe she found be interesting, maybe she was bored, maybe something else, don't know, but it *could* be the first one. You can never exclude that. People are different.
Look at all the uglier (or just not good looking) guys or girls around. Some of them have partners who look a lot/considerably better.
Know at least 2 such couples myself.
Sometimes it must be love.
Just try. You can lose self-confidence, but you can win a lot.

At least you stopped it :).

Turnip all the way!

I still keep the old red and grey CFC colors. Wait, that is the old default CFC colors, right?

So I'm not sure if the government's changes to student debt will effect me or not, but working with the fact that they clearly wanted to screw young people over as much as possible, I'd say I just lost a fair bit of money.

My professor is terrible, there may be a 4-page essay due tomorrow morning that he provided literally no information on, so I didn't do it and was barely aware of it if at all, I have to get up early to do a two-hour final for a boring course that our terrible tenured professor didn't prepare us for, and I missed the chance to tear him apart in the course evaluations because we apparently had to do them online and I apparently missed the due date.

Also, ideologues are like mosquitoes. They make an obnoxious whine, they cannot leave well enough alone, there are a lot of them, they cannot be reasoned with, they are one of humanity's greatest burdens, and the world would be so much better off without them.

I now get to choose between food and doctor visits for chronic depression, yay!

You have to pay to see the doctor in Australia?

Currently Medicare covers a certain amount of a GP visit. I don't know the exact amount, but let's say it's $30. A GP can charge more if they like (unlike the NHS, practices are private businesses, and GPs aren't essentially government employees), and will generally do so, because the Medicare cost hasn't risen at the same rate as the actual cost for the GP. If the cost of a consultation is $40, you'll pay $40 to the receptionist after your consultation, but you'll get a $30 rebate from Medicare (again, because you're dealing with a private business who is being reimbursed by the government). The $10 difference is called the 'gap', and if you're privately insured, the gap may be covered too, in which case you'll end up paying nothing.

However, some GPs 'bulk-bill', which means after your consultation you show your Medicare care and they bill directly to it - but they can then only bill the Medicare amount of $30 (well, 85% of that, which is the trade-off for saving transaction costs). Which means if you're bulk-billed, you'll end up paying nothing, as the entire cost of the consultation is being directly paid for by Medicare. It's up to the GP whether they do this or not, given it limits the fee they can charge, but generally they'll do it for those with lower incomes like pensioners or students, and some GPs run bulk-bill practices, whereby everyone is bulk-billed (though the idea is that the service you're getting won't necessarily be quite as good, and you won't find this in wealthier areas). The changes announced in the federal budget yesterday mean that now if you're bulk-billed you have to make a $6 co-payment. So you'll either have to pay the gap (or pay for insurance which covers it), or pay the $6. Meaning no free consultations. Polls suggest this will deter about 40% of people from visiting a GP.

The changes to student debt are that instead of having it indexed to CPI, it's going to be indexed to some bond measure, which will effectively mean up to 3% extra a year. It seems that this will apply to all currently existing student debt, even though that debt was taken out on the understanding that it'd only be indexed to CPI. If it were a contract rather than a government program, it's be a pretty clear breach.

That certainly qualifies as a rant.
