I thought it was just me. And kept blinking at the screen.

It was, but you're contagious. Like a gentle and symbiotic viral agent.

I don't really know how I should take that. But I'll take it positively until you tell me differently.

Anyway... is there some malware infecting CFC? What with the turnip green home page and comparatively recent subscribers being redefined as Guests for some reason?

Hey! Maybe I can get my post count reset to zero. That would be nice.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and look on the left-hand side. You can choose which forum skin to use. My Dark Blue is unchanged.

Black CFC is the best CFC!

Modern CFC is best CFC. Black burns my eyes.

I like the lines on Ancient CFC, which for one or another reason was the default skin when I registered.

I've used (non-fixed-width) Modern CFC for years. :)

I know this. And I have tried the other forms available. Though these days I can't be bothered.

I was referring to the home page of CFC before I log in, though. For some reason it's been displaying in turnip green for me. Without me having fiddled with the settings. As far as I've been aware

It's Friday evening, the exam week is over, and there are no parties in this goddamn town :gripe:.

And I was also close to getting a stroke when I discovered a bug in one of my scripts and thought I had submitted a half ton of crap to the public DNA databases.
Turns out not, but *grrrrr*, that wasn't fun.

You should live in the country some more. Then you can look forward to having no parties any month of the year for miles around. :p

I can't remember the last party I went to.

Spoiler :
Oh, yes I can. It was my neighbour's 85th birthday party. About 18 months ago, iirc. A dull do. I left as soon as I could.

And that reminds me, I've been invited to someone's 65th. Next week! That'll be dire, too. But I can't think of a way out of it. Perhaps I'll be suddenly ill. Or something.

Then you can graduate to, "this isn't a party but I do have an entire keg for 4 guys."

Probably vastly superior in about every way unless you're looking to score with drunk chicks.

Doesn't need to be drunk. Just any.
I got to know quite some faces due to different courses, but haven't really got any chance to talk to any of them. Therefore I'd like to go out, just for the chance of running into someone, but there's the problem with the lack of party + people :/.

I'm not really getting that post, but right now I'd prefer party overkill.

EDIT: Great, it's raining.
Forget it. I'm tired, exhausted, unshowered, sick, and demotivated, I'll go to bed.
Great friday evening.

Everybody needs those time to time. Sorry you're under the weather. Hope you feel better soon!

My local market sells rotisserie chickens. Every Friday they have a sale on them. I went to get one today and they are making me wait fifteen minutes. Plus they are being baked not cooked on rotisserie.

just don't turn up, chances are they will not remember if they invited you, or not

make it their problem...

Ah. That's the problem. The birthday "girl" would notice my absence. I'm sure of it. And though she might not directly complain to me, I don't fancy hurting her feelings.

I think I shall have to turn up. Late. But how late? 15 minutes or 1/2 hour? And duck out as early as I can. It's a buffet in a pub, though. And starts at 5 pm (which is very early). Dear me. What'll I do? I can't spend up to 7 hours in a pub!

I think I'll have to ring her up and sound it out a bit more. Maybe I could get away with arriving 4 hours late. No. No. That's no good. I'm in a bit of a quandary.
