Wouldn't the closer assumption be that you simply strained your knee a bit?
"I did high intense exercise and now my knee hurts. It must be arthritis!" Man sorry but I just have to laugh about htis one
It sounds a bit like head banging for a night, waking up and thinking "OMG by neck hurts. I got spinal cancer!"
I hate it when I suddenly remember something embarassing/stupid/etc. I did in the past, making me cringe hard.
^ Oh dear me yes!

That happens to me far too often.

Hopefully, though, I'm far too uninteresting for anyone else to remember the event(s).
I love it to see other people describing how they hate it. Since I hate it too.

Usually it surely is correct that only you even know it. Since everyone else has forgotten it. However, there are also those things you know are not forgotten.

Arthritis? You are either older than suppose or completely wrecked, man. Are you sure?

You can get arthritis at any age. Even neonates can have it. What causes it is something of a mystery, though if may have something to do with the autoimmune system, iirc.

It most commonly is age related, of course.

Then get someone to see it.

I'll have someone look at it if it doesn't improve in a few days.

:D I wouldn't compare concern about arthritis in the knee to omg it's cancer, but I hope you're right that I'm just over-reacting.

She said no, I'm getting overwhelmed by work, and I'm apparently immune to hunger, which sucks because I enjoy eating.

Now what?

Reading your old essays is a painful experience. A friend of mine (who is a freshman) asked for some examples of what types of essays he would be expected to write as a freshman. I dug up some of my old essays and sent them off to him.
Out of curiosity I read them and dear God. The number of leaps in thought, unclear explanations, and flat out wrong statements (because I was too lazy to do research) is clear. I mean, in one essay I'm saying the Labour Party played a role in 19th century Britain and stating the Welfare State under Attlee was a new concept rather than an establish Labour Party goal that consisted of extending the pre-existing insurance and support schemes.
I hope I don't look back in a few years at my current essays and think the same thing. (I probably will, but only with respect to econometrics.)

I haven't written enough essays since my freshman year to have much comparison, but I imagine they'd look bad to me if I read them. I mean, by random internet posts from the past always look bad to me if I read them again several years later, I can't imagine my essays are much different....

I have disowned all posts I made prior to, I dunno, 2012 or so. Current Phrossack hates young Phrossack.

In 2 years, everyone will regret what they said in non-serial threads with more than 1000 posts.

I regret plenty of things I said in serial threads limited to 1000 posts.

Most of the history books at my college's library are older than I am. More than a few were written before my parents were born. I have to write on a less-than-optimally-interesting topic for history because of the huge amount of sources required, and one of the sources I want (the muster rolls for Coronado's Expedition) are only available either for a price or at a college on the other side of the state for library use only.

Why did I have to be interested in history? Why couldn't I have developed an interest in something useful and lucrative like engineering or computer programming?

Does your college have access to jstor or other academic online sources?

Yeah seriously, we folks pick the useless degrees. Useless wishy-washy liberal arts degrees

I don't wanna flip burgers. T_T

I'll have to check JSTOR for it, thanks. Hadn't thought of that.

you think it's easy sledding over here?

Assuming you're an engineer or computer science major?

Yes.

I mean, you have a chance to be useful and make money with your degree. You have lots of job opportunities either way. Any suffering you have on the way there is temporary and for a good cause.

Hahaha yeaaaah. My old posts were frequently terrible. Some gems though :p My posts the past 3-4 months haven't been particularly good either...

I've realized that I am probably a fundamentally bad person due to my aberrant nature, and I'm steadily becoming more and more like the people I despise. But at least I'm not quite there yet.

 you know when you ride a bike, and you see a pole? And you're like, seven, eight? And you know the pole is tiny. But you're so afraid of hitting the pole, so you watch the pole to make sure you don't hit the pole. And then you hit the pole.

Stop watching the damn pole! Start watching where you want to be.

This. Pretty much my feeling in general.

Don't be so hard on yourself. After all, young Phrossack did create Current Phrossack.
