Random Rants LV: The Joy of Ranting

You're missing the point. If you continue to do nothing about it, it will continue to annoy you. Choosing to constantly avoid any possible conflict over resolving your issues is not a mature way of dealing with a problem. That doesn't mean you storm in and demand them to shut up while they're banging, that's probably worse than doing nothing, rather you should be able to have the maturity to bring it up in a manner that allows both you and your roommates to find an amicable solution.

Just because I haven't done it yet doesn't mean I never will. And there's quite a big difference between saying someone's going about something the wrong way and accusing them of immaturity. The latter works about as well as storming in and making demands; that is to say, belligerence backfires.

Good post.

But I'd probably just hammer against their door, shouting "you're too loud" ^^.
Wouldn't recommend that though ^^.

You should keep that in mind next time you accuse your roommates of being immature.

And some people dont mind music, which I find odd. I had a roomate generally unwilling, for a long time and even repeatedly asked, to use headphones because he liked his speakers better

If I recripocated, he truly probably wouldnt had cared. I just always used headphones anyways though, but he openly thought it was not an issue

Eh, I don't think it's an issue either; my daytime music listening volume is below my speaking voice volume.

adult life starts when you don't have roomates...

I miss having roommates, I'll probably look for some next time I move. I make adult salary now, so with comparable roommates, I'll be able to afford a really nice place.

I actually agree it is good to share a place,
but, but
I said that as someone who has house guests till probably next March...

an adult makes sensible reasoned decisions, something I throw out the window, when I said ''no problem'' to my cousin in the UK when he told me his daughter and her boyfriend were backpacking to Australia... they are lovely people but my monthly BBQ, with a few friends has turn into the UN backpackers conference. I just don't speak enough German Swedish and Canadian

it is a rants thread :old: and why did I suggest staying till march for the grand prix was no problem, when he mentioned he liked motor sports

I assumed it was half-joking, but I just wanted to make sure just in case you did something stupid that could totally ruin an otherwise perfectly functional living arrangement. I didn't expect the level of dog piling that occurred afterwards and I'm sorry about that.
Thanks. Your suggestions have been reasonable.

Azzaman tends to be fairly blunt, you kind of just have to get used to that. He means well.
If this is what he does when he means well, then what in God's name does he do when he means ill?

Not a bad starting point, actually.

All of this debate could be avoided if everyone took Antilogic's recommendation of one of Phrossack's original ideas.

Record it and sell for profit? Or... wait, I think I'm getting the suggestions mixed up now.

That's my recommendation, Mr. Missouri. Anti's was, in fact, the one about playing a vuvuzela, an activity for which I, for one, recommend bringing back the death penalty.

Gah. I just had a weird sleep. First, I wasn't really able to sleep, and then when I was, I dreamt.

Since the brain that is trapped in my skull is rather bizarre, the dreams were odd.

My first dream was about having a Powerpuff Forum game with Cutlass. Which included kicking down an endless chasm until I woke up.
No, I have no idea either.

Then, a slightly more sadder dream - I went to my now-dead grandparent's house, and I saw them alive! Using for some unknown reasons ear implants to hear better, with which caretakers they hired used to track them, and then the house was full of strangers. So, trapped in the bedroom, I tried to escape from them, but no luck, they were there. Staring. Judging. I had to go through it and I rushed to the upper floor. I wanted nothing from there, but a few books. It was turned however part-library and part hair-dresser salon, so when I was looking for a favourite book of mine, I only stumbled into the salon.

Then I woke up.

Cute girl on train, but I'm pretty sure it's not socially acceptable to strike up conversation with strangers on public transport, and I'm certain it's not acceptable to try to start up conversation on public transport when they have earphones in/headphones on.

I need to get out more...

Headphones=cool person, date her
earphones=WTH, bad taste and worse hearing

@Tolni: what did you put in your stuffed peppers (besides the potatoes and meat and potatoes and spices and potatoes)?

I think I already told you, eggs and cheese in an godly combination. Of course, there's always the classic "rice and meat" combo.
