Definitely not football.

I must concur with the Scottish-Argentine specialist.

I must concur with the Spanish-Catalan newcomer whom I've never seen before.

Handegg and anklesphere are both called football, quit bickering already.

Only by barbarians!

Tak, are you talking about soccer?

It's all relative, of course. After a cold snap of -30 to -40, along comes a couple of days of -20 with no wind chill, and everybody remarks about how it's really warmed up and isn't it nice? :D
Cue Obelix tapping his head and the caption reading: "These Canadians are crazy!"
Not crazy at all. There are definitely times when -20C with no wind chill feels much warmer than -10C with a wind chill. Dress in appropriate layers, with a good toque and pair of gloves and footwear, and you'll be just fine.

Fahrenheit is based on people, celsius is based on water. Fahrenheit is far better. 100 is when it gets to the OMG its f'ing hot. 0 is when it gets to OMG it's f'ing cold. Much better than 37 OMG it's hot and -17 OMG it's cold. Not natural.
For me, it's more like "22 OMG it's hot". I'm definitely a cool-weather person. The most comfortable time of year for me is September/October.

But then what if we want to go with Kelvin?
Maybe Kelvin wants to go alone. You should ask if he wants company instead of just inviting yourselves along. [/Miss Manners]

Did you hear about that guy who got cooled to absolute zero?

He's 0K now.

*studio audience laughter*

Have you been on a British beach in December? Barbecues are the least of your worries there. :)
This is what the nearest beach looks like in December (Sylvan Lake, Alberta is the nearest lake to me that has a beach):

You have those kick-sled-thingys in Canada too!? I thought they only existed in my corner of the world. What do you call them?

I have no idea. I didn't take this picture, so I'm not sure exactly what that thing is, or who it belongs to. It's a picture of a lake shore in a town a short distance to the northwest of here.

Not natural.

Great basis for an argument there.

Anyway, rant: the warm-up not's going to last more than a week. Also, people and things are colluding to keep from completing my passport application.

Insert generic complaints about Antilogic's work-life balance here, especially given it's going to be a late night.

So I messed up by getting the hottest/spiciest takeout food I've ever had

I had a "just make it maximum spice level" from this place before, and that was a poor decision too but I finished it in the usual meal + leftover meal. So I KNEW this was going to be a poor decision but did it anyways.

im also out of food otherwise but too tired to go grocery shopping

terrible life decisions

No worries Kennigit. Periodical fasting is good for your health.

Yeah, that happened once to me. Boiled cabbage with a massive amount of spicy pepper does not go exceptionally well for someone unaccustomed to it as me.
