Not crazy at all. There are definitely times when -20C with no wind chill feels much warmer than -10C with a wind chill. Dress in appropriate layers, with a good toque and pair of gloves and footwear, and you'll be just fine.Cue Obelix tapping his head and the caption reading: "These Canadians are crazy!"Valka D'Ur said:It's all relative, of course. After a cold snap of -30 to -40, along comes a couple of days of -20 with no wind chill, and everybody remarks about how it's really warmed up and isn't it nice?![]()
For me, it's more like "22 OMG it's hot". I'm definitely a cool-weather person. The most comfortable time of year for me is September/October.Fahrenheit is based on people, celsius is based on water. Fahrenheit is far better. 100 is when it gets to the OMG its f'ing hot. 0 is when it gets to OMG it's f'ing cold. Much better than 37 OMG it's hot and -17 OMG it's cold. Not natural.
Maybe Kelvin wants to go alone. You should ask if he wants company instead of just inviting yourselves along. [/Miss Manners]But then what if we want to go with Kelvin?
Did you hear about that guy who got cooled to absolute zero?
He's 0K now.

This is what the nearest beach looks like in December (Sylvan Lake, Alberta is the nearest lake to me that has a beach):Have you been on a British beach in December? Barbecues are the least of your worries there.![]()
I have no idea. I didn't take this picture, so I'm not sure exactly what that thing is, or who it belongs to. It's a picture of a lake shore in a town a short distance to the northwest of here. You have those kick-sled-thingys in Canada too!? I thought they only existed in my corner of the world. What do you call them?
Not natural.
Now I know how Lions fans felt last week.
