As others have said, get socks all in the same color.
Or... if anyone points out that you have odd socks on, just smile and say, "Aren't they great? I have another pair just like it at home."
These are my solutions for when I had a cat who decided to use socks as surrogate kittens, and for some reason would only "adopt" one half of every pair.
The best solution so far was stack limits and group combat as implemented in the Call to Power series, something so simple that firaxis yet fail to realize or implement.
All civ games after 4 have been purely rubbish in terms of AI competency. They are however vastly more fun for combatless city building / sim city style gameplay since you don't have bother with defense in the slightest bit.
As for todays rant - other forums which spam you with emails everyone someone replies to a thread you posted in. Even more worse when such a forum has no opt out setting or the opt out setting doesn't work.
Once I resorted to reporting the messages from a microsoft forum as spam for flooding my inbox with 50+ emails daily, only to then find myself permabanned for reporting them as spam (I had already tried opting out of notification emails, and it carried on bombarding me with them).
I don't even understand why such a thing is allowed, or which forum creators think its such a nice feature to force onto everyone using their forum.

Oh, no. You should be punsihed for all eternity or twenty turns, whichever lasts longer, for even suggesting that the iteration of civ you prefer is not the same as the one I prefer.
