A credit card scammer called my local radio station during a call-in segment not long ago. The Broadcaster had fun with him live on air.

Hang in there, GoodEnoughForMe! If anything, you are good enough for us.
Final frame would be Cutlass' ghost father not figuring out his ghost computer. :)
He has to be played by Sean Bean.

Raves thread is that way--->

Except they aren't on food stamps. I already posted the wage data for teachers in West Virginia, which you are conveniently ignoring. They are paid well over what is considered a living wage in West Virginia.

Really? What's the starting salary?
BTW: Strike settled. Teachers AND all state employees to get a 5% raise. [party]

Good question. I tried looking it up, but could only find averages. I even found the official salary schedule for 2017 for the West Virginia Department of Education, but even that just has averages with some data about what the top 10% make, but nothing about the bottom 10%.

The salary schedule also just lists averages for "professionals" but doesn't specify exactly what job titles are included in that category.

Moderator Action: Serious economic issues like these are not going to be solved in the Random Rants thread. We have plenty of space outside the serial threads to thrash out these discussions. Thank you.

Electronic Arts is being Electronic Arts again. They're releasing an expansion pack for an expansion pack for the Sims 4. My First Pet Stuff requires Cats and Dogs. I thought the Sims 3 cupcake bra stuff pack was bad enough...

I'm glad I play the Sims 2.

If you pre-order now, you can get the Pre-Order DLC for the Expansion pack of the expansion pack.

How about an expansion pack that requires the pre-order DLC for the expansion pack of the expansion pack?

This brings up a rant - the fact that Microsoft sells its XBox Live currency in amounts that don't match up with the prices, so you always have to have some leftover. This is basically theft but they get away with it because markets are efficient or something?

You buy the season pass which contains four DLCs, then another 20 come out which are not included. To use the DLC you bought, you first have to unlock it with keys that you can get from loot boxes.
Or even better, you buy DLC and keys in different lootboxes and an algorithm makes sure that you never get more than one key for a DLC or one DLC for a key that you already have.

I thought they switched to real money long ago?

I am trying to publish my novel Wee on Kindle, but Amazon is making it as difficult as humanly possible.:whipped: This morning I got to enter my address three times. :wallbash::wallbash::wallbash: I am currently downloading something called "Kindle Previewer." Will it let me upload my book? I don't know? What does it do? I don't know? Do I need it? I don't know. :dunno:

Hey. look at hat I just found:

With Kindle Previewer you can preview your book in several ways:

Preview by device type, orientation, and font.
Change the filters under the "Preview Options" section to see how your eBook will look on tablets, Kindle E-readers, and phones. You can also preview your book in portrait and landscape views in a variety of font types and sizes.
  • Check specific elements. Use the filters in the "View All" drop down menu to preview particular elements (e.g., images, lists, tables) throughout your eBook. For example, if you want to check all the images in your book, select Images from the menu, and Previewer will display all pages with images.
  • Get a quick, end-to-end preview. Enable the "Auto-Advance View" option in the "Navigation" section, and Kindle Previewer will automatically flip through your entire eBook. You can pause "Auto Advance" and change the speed.

In other words, this is not the way to upload the book.

My cover art for Wee is derived from artwork for which copyright was waived..i.e. in the public domain. That's not good enough for Kindle. I must be the copyright holder. [pissed]

You've published before, right? How was the artwork handled before?
I haven't published before. If I had, the publisher would have handled it. But here, I am the publisher.

BookBaby has a service for cover art: $250 for a simple one; $350 for customized. They're the lowest priced people I've found. Others go for several hundred to over a thousand. I don't want to lay out that kind of money.
