I just had an exam today. It went unsurprisingly badly. But at least it's over.

Taking exams is a young person's game, though. And I'm well past my best.

Fluid mechanics. And was I crap at it? Yes, I was. And the more crap I was, the less work I did, and the crappier I became.

I have to drink 4 liters of this laxative/colon-clearing thingy in preparation for my colonoscopy tomorrow. One cup every 15-20 minutes as of now.

It is disgusting. Not because it tastes like actual manure or sewage. It tastes like really terrible synthetic chemical crap they make at some pharmaceutical factory.

I've done this several times before, I know how it goes. It starts off alright, and I can drink one cup fine. And then after a few cups I start to feel bad. And a few cups later I have to fight myself to be able to manage a few sips.

Ok, I just vomitted a bunch of that stuff out. Looks like this isn't going as well as the previous times, and that's saying a lot.


EDIT 2: ok I'm vomiting way too much of this stuff every time I take it, something's not right here so I'm gonna have to contact the medical people to see what they think I should do. God forbid I have to do this crap all over again.

Hang in there. I remember that horrible laxative stuff from the time I had an colonoscopy. I think it was 2 liters not 4 I had to drink. But, ugh, it was still bad enough.

Thanks. Unfortunately after discussing it with the medical people it seems like I won't be able to have the colonoscopy, given that I've been unable to consume most of the laxative; whenever I reschedule it it seems like I'll have to take something else. I will still be having my upper endoscopy later today which I scheduled to have alongside the colonoscopy, so at least my fasting won't be in vain.

Can't they give you a suppository? When I had a haemorrhoid banded recently, I was given a suppository which did much the same thing.

If it's only in the lower colon then a suppository will suffice. But if they want a peak through the entire large intestine then you'll need to clear out the whole system.

They'll be going through the whole large intestine or at least a good chunk of it, yeah, so the small amount of the laxative I consumed (most of which I barfed out anyways) won't do, sadly.

I've done that a few times. Personally it's not that bad for me, to me it tastes like flavorless paste. At the very least my body doesn't seem to want to expel it from my body instinctively. Not particularly fun having to drink a bunch of that at once, though, but it is fun seeing my poop come out white afterwards like as if it were white chocolate.

I had a colonoscopy done and all it was was a small packet that you drink and from then on in you just have to drink or eat clear liquid for the next day and then fast from midnight. Certainly not this massive amount of liquid you are drinking. :gross.

There's a variety of different ways to prepare for the colonoscopy I guess.

I'm still waiting to reschedule mine, at any rate, and it appears this time I'll be drinking some power thing that I add to gatorade (it'll be less stuff to consume compared to what I just tried taking) but it seems like I have to also consume huge amounts of water too. According to my gastroenterologist most people tolerate it better but I guess it's not as effective as the other solution since I have to drink a bunc hof water.
