MY RANT: While I did about a million things this summer, I feel like it was wasted. I spent it interning, and it took up a lot of time and really isolated me from my friends. The whole summer I saw few people besides my parents, my boss, and strangers on the train. I don't have all that many friends in this world and it's rough on me when I lose one. I really hope that my senior year holds good things for me.

Abby, move out of Brighton. My aunt lives there and so I know from personal experience that the place is a mad house. I bet everyone who lives there has the exact same daily experiences that you've been describing. Its a hell of a place and its full of weirdos. Its bad enough visiting it for a day, to live there must be horrible lol.

Sophomoric is like unwarranted pretentiousness or overconfidence. Generally what you would expect from various kinds of sophomores who consider themselves oh so much better than freshmen but are in reality still not all that well-educated or good at what they do.
