No Singapore is a horrible place where dreams go to be crushed brutally and buried. It is socially phobic hell hole with an Authorative regime that tries to pretend its a democracy which is pretty much obvious to every lame duck in the world except to Singaporeans. The goverment has successfully trained a generation of Singaporeans to be oblivious and scared the rest to be quiet. The people dress and talk and live in an attitude that either scares the crap out of me or makes me shake my head and cry in silent desperation.
Every is faked. Our "culture" the tourism board tries to sell to ignorant foreigners, our "unity" as a country which is actually a combination of blind nationalism and lack of will, our "racial harmony" even though every one is a little bit racist or a whole lot racist. This Forum is my escape from the socialist, ignorant and blind nutjob that I live in. Its only redeeming quality is that it is NOT Malaysia.

If you let me, ill exchange places with you. Ill rather take on 500,000 Evangelical-crazed Koreans protesting in an ironic fashion than the Constitutional right NOT to be allowed to Protest.

Singapore isnt horrible if you talk about in terms of HDI or economically.
However it is horrible when you realise that Singaporeans either dont know anything or are too afraid to say anything. Try reading the schools history textbooks, it is propaganda at its best.

As for Evangelical Christian, No offence but I went to my friends Evangelical Church once, it scared the hell out of me and to be honest, I feel that the Evangelical churches are very aggressive and a little too hooked on religion.

Also while I dont discriminate or become intolerable to Asian Christians, I feel that Christianity tends to erase East Asian Traditions and hence, prefer it if East Asians stay Buddhist or Taoist or Confusicnist. One of my Uncles does not celebrate Chinese New Year due to his Christian fate for example.
But I know a few people who are both Christian and celebrate their Heritage expressively. It would be better if Asian Christians are like that.

what happened?

I had a dental procedure a few days ago...and my back gum is so swollen that my mouth can barely on open on the right side. I've been popping painkillers like Rush Limbaugh for about three days now...and its only JUST starting to go down. I hope I'm back to normal before I get home, or I'm in trouble...I have two interviews the day after I get back to Ohio!
