He doesn't give any air to the reasons America might have taken the actions it has in the region, and just comes out and says its because of an American, neo-conservative imperialist project to colonize the Middle East, with the help of racist liberal Orientalists. To me that screams "bias!".

I've read way too much history to ever think that powers have altruistic intentions when intervening in the sovereign affairs of other nations. I used to think America was an avowed force for good in the world. Until I saw how many oppressive regimes the US supported, thus putting the lie to all their lip service to democracy.

I'm not really here to debate American foreign policy, although I do not believe your, IMO, overly cynical conclusion (I possibly wouldn't mind to in another thread though).

What I am here to do is Rant about this incredibly hypocritical book, telling me to be neutral and keep an open mind, and then not do it themselves when they come to a topic they're obviously very passionate about.

Summer to autumn transition is a strange feeling? ;)
It's not really the transition itself. Just the memories of something. Part of the eeriness was that I couldn't remember what that "something" was.

I try not to care about religion, but damnit, these kind of things make it difficult. Can you get any clearer a picture of anti-intellectualism?

The way he uses them though come off as biased; he just automatically assumes a position on American foreign policy in the region, and uses that to justify his arguments about various Islamist topics. Fair enough, sounds like he's just a hack.

My histology professor is a naturopath. I think it won't affect the course content that much, but it still bothers me.

Right, that thing.
Yeah, most of us are sane, normal people and our Church, unlike your US Protestant WASP anti-coffee party, happens to have taken a liking to science, of late.

Specifically, the clergy's increased interest in human anatomy.
